국문 초록

이 연구는 학령기에 있는 KSL 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 미디어 리터러시 교육 방향을 제시하기 위해 교재를분석하여 개선점을 모색하고 있다. 인터넷 상용화와 스마트폰의 보급으로 미디어의 영향력은 날로 커지고 있다. 이제 미디어 환경은 일상적인 언어 환경이 되었다. 또한 미디어를 통해 누구나 쉽게 정보에 접근할 수 있게 되었고미디어를 직접 생산하고 공유할 수 있는 환경까지 조성되었다. 이러한 미디어 환경 속에서 정보를 비판적으로 분석하고 나아가 새롭게 창조할 수 있는 미디어 리터러시 능력이 매우 중요해졌다. 특히 한국 내 언어 사용 환경에 노출되어 미디어의 영향을 많이 받는 학령기 KSL 학습자에게 미디어 리터러시는 더욱 큰 중요성을 갖는다. 급변하는 상황 속에서도 교육적 발전을 이루기 위해서는 교육 방안에 대한 논의에 앞서 전체적 교육 방향에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 하다. 이에 본 연구는 거시적 관점에서 KSL 학습자 대상의 미디어 리터러시 교육 위한 교육 방향을모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 우선 KSL 학습자의 특성을 분석하고 미디어 리터러시 교육이 필요한 이유를 논의하였다. 이러한 학습자 특성을 반영하여 이들에게 필요한 미디어 리터러시 교육 내용 5단계를 제시하였다. 다음으로는 5단계의 미디어 리터러시 교육 내용이 실제로 얼마나 반영되어 있는지를 살펴보기 위해 현행 KSL 교재를 분석하였다. 그리고 교재 분석을 통해 문제점을 도출하여 개선점을 모색하고, 전체적인 교육 방향에 대해 논의하였다

영문 초록

This study analyzed textbooks and examined methods to improve them in order to propose a direction for media literacy education for school-age KSL students. With the commercialization of the Internet and the widespread use of smartphones, the influence of media has been strengthening day by day. The media environment has become a daily linguistic one. Additionally anyone can easily access information through media, and an environment has been established in which anyone can create and share media on their own. In this media environment, media literacy is crucial as it helps critically analyze information, as well as create new information. It is especially crucial for school-aged KSL students, who can be highly influenced by media exposure to the language use environment in Korea. In a rapidly changing environment, research on the overall direction of education must be conducted first before the discussion over diverse educational methods is commenced. Therefore, this study sought to determine the trajectory of media literacy education for KSL learners from a macroscopic viewpoint. First the characteristics of KSL students were analyzed, followed by a discussion on the necessity of media literacy education. By reflecting the learners characteristics, the contents of media literacy education for them were suggested in five steps. The KSL textbooks currently in use were analyzed for the investigation into the actual reflection of this five-step media literacy education. Some issue were revealed through the analysis; their solutions were examined, and the overall direction of education was discussed.
