평생학습 참여 북한이탈여성학습자의 남한생활적응 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 북한이탈성인여성이 남한 사회에 적응하는 과정에서 경험한 생활과 평생학습의 의미에 대해발견해 보고 그들의 삶의 변화에 대한 인식은 어떠한가에 대해 탐색하고자 한 것이다. 연구대상은 북한을 이탈하여 남한 사회에 정착하여 평생학습에 참여하는 성인여성 다섯 명으로 질적 면담 자료를 사용하였으며 심층면접법을 활용하여 의미를 해석하였다. 연구의 분석 결과, 북한이탈여성들의 남한 정착 전 북한에서의 삶은 출신 및 배경의 대물림으로 틀에 박힌 삶의 답답함과 힘들고 어려운 시절을 지냈으며, 남한 입국 과정에서 체류한 국가에서 또다른 이방인으로 돈을 벌기 위해 일하며 신분으로 인한 불안함 속에서 남한으로 가기 위해 필사적인 노력을 하였다. 그리고 남한에서 새로운 삶을 시작하는 과정에서 정착을 위한 도움의 손길을 경험하며 안정적인 거처를 구해나갔으며, 새로운 생활과 생계유지를 위해 일하고 배우는 과정에서 불안정한 직업생활과 편견 속에서 고된 일과어려운 일을 감내하며 배움을 통해 구직을 희망하였다. 또한, 남한생활적응 과정에서 평생학습의 기회를 탐색하고자기계발을 하는데 있어 국가 및 유관기관의 교육 지지는 중요함을 인식하였으며, 더 나은 미래를 준비하며 자격과정 이수와 학위 취득을 위한 학력보완으로 평생학습에 임하였다. 이처럼 남한생활적응 과정에서 북한이탈여성학습자들이 경험한 평생학습은 남한의 자국민으로 공존할 수 있는 구성원으로 역량을 갖추어 가는데 기반이 되었음을확인할 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 북한이탈성인여성들에 대한 교육수혜의 확대와 인식 개선을 위한 교육 정보 제공 및 네트워크 활성화가 필요하며, 평생학습 유관기관 및 단체 간의 협력적 지원과 북한이탈여성학습자들과의 원만한 상호작용을 위해 심리적․정서적․경제적 측면에서 긍정적 영향력이 부여될 수 있는 효율적․실천적인 교육의수행을 제안한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to discover the meaning of life and lifelong learning experienced by North Korean adult women in the process of adapting to South Korean society, and to explore their perception of changes in life. The subjects of this study were five adult women who fled North Korea and settled in South Korea to participate in lifelong learning, and were interpreted using an in-depth interview method using qualitative data interview questions. As a result of the analysis of the study, adult women who defected from North Korea lived in North Korea before they settled in South Korea, and they lived through difficult and frustrating times due to the inheritance of their origins and backgrounds. In the process of entering South Korea, they worked desperately to make money as another foreigner in the country of residence, and desperately tried to go to South Korea amidst anxiety due to their status. And in the process of starting a new life in South Korea, they experienced a helping hand for settling down and found a stable place to live. In the process of working and learning for a new life and livelihood, they hoped to find a job through learning while enduring hard work and difficult work amidst precarious work life and prejudice. They recognized the importance of national and relevant institutional support for education in exploring lifelong learning opportunities and self-development in the process of adapting to life in South Korea. And preparing for a better future, they began lifelong learning by supplementing their academic background to complete a qualification course and obtain a degree. As such, it can be confirmed that the lifelong learning experienced by adult women who defected from North Korea in the process of adapting to life in South Korea was the basis for building competence as a member of South Korea who can coexist as a native of South Korea. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to provide educational information and activate networks to expand educational benefits and improve awareness of North Korean adult women. In addition, cooperative support between institutions and organizations related to lifelong learning is required. It is suggested that effective and practical education that can be given a positive influence in psychological, emotional and economic aspects should be conducted for smooth interaction with North Korean defector worman learners.
