유아 어머니의 심리·행동통제와 자녀 정서조절 간의 관계에서 어머니 정서표현의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 어머니의 심리·행동통제와 자녀 정서조절 간의 관계에서 어머니 정서표현의 매개효과를 알아보기 위한 목적으로 실시되었다. 이를 위해 P시에 소재한 유치원 6곳과 어린이집 10곳에 재원중인 242명의 유아와 어머니를 대상으로 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료로 회귀매개분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 어머니 심리통제는 낮을수록 정서표현성은 높아지고, 행동통제가 높을수록 정서표현성이 높아졌다. 다음으로 어머니 심리통제와 행동통제는 정서조절능력에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 어머니 정서표현성은 정서조절능력에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통하여 심리통제와 정서조절능력 간의 관계에서 정서표현성은 완전매개효과를 나타내고, 행동통제와 정서조절능력 간의 관계에서 정서표현성에서도 정서표현성은 완전매개효과를 나타내었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of maternal emotional display on the relationship between maternal psychological·behavioral control and young children s emotional regulation. Data were gathered from 242 preschoolers and their mothers in six kindergartens and 10 daycare centers that were located in an urban community. The collected data were analyzed by making a mediated regression analysis. The major findings of the study were as follows: First of all, emotional expressivity became better when there was less maternal psychological control, and emotional expressivity became better when there was more behavioral control. Next, maternal psychological control and behavioral control were found to have exerted a significant influence on emotional regulation skills. Maternal emotional expressivity was found to have exercised a significant influence on emotional regulation skills. The findings of the study illustrated that emotional expressivity had a perfect mediating effect on the relationship between psychological control and emotional regulation skills, and that emotional expressivity had a perfect mediating effect on the relationship between behavioral control and emotional regulation skills as well.
