재외국민 대학생의 글쓰기 관련 요구와 자료 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 재외국민 대학생의 글쓰기 능력을 체계적이고 효율적으로 함양시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여 학습자의 요구와 작문 자료를 토대로 글쓰기에서 나타나는 오류의 유형 및 그 원인을 분석하였다. 그 결과 재외국민 대학생은 글쓰기에서 문어적, 학문적 어휘․표현 및 문법 지식뿐 아니라 어문규범에 대한 이해도가 상대적으로 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 한국어 문법과 어문규범을 체계적으로 학습할 기회 및 한국어로 글쓰기를 할 기회를 거의 접하지 못한 상태로 오랜 시간 한국어로 소통하는 구어적 환경에 노출되어 성장하였기 때문에 구어적 표현이 고착화․내재화된 결과로 볼 수 있다. 재외국민 대학생에게 대학에서 수학하기 위한 기본적인 글쓰기 능력을 함양시키기 위해 각 대학에서는 재외국민 대학생만을 대상으로 한 글쓰기 관련 강좌를 개설하고 이와 관련한 교육 자료나 교과과정 등을 설계하고 개발하여야 할 것이다. 특히 교육 자료나 교과 과정에 학문적, 문어적 표현과 한국어 문법, 어문규범 등을 체계적으로 교수․학습할 수 있는 장치를 마련하는 것이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study was aimed at finding a teaching strategy to improve the writing ability of Korean residents from abroad in Korean universities systematically and efficiently. For the purpose of this research, the study analyzed the demand of the learners, and causes of the types of errors which appear in writing materials. The result showed that the Korean residents from abroad in Korean universities had a relatively low understanding of norms of language as well as formal and academic vocabulary, expressions and grammar. It indicates that the students have grown exposed to verbal Korean for long time without a chance to learn Korean grammar and norms or write in Korean, which caused fixation and internalization of the verbal expression. Therefore, a university should design and develop a curriculum or educational materials for Korean residents from abroad in Korean universities for effective education. Especially, their writing suggested that special courses are needed for them and systematic norms of language as well as formal and academic vocabulary, expressions and Korean grammar education, is effective for them to improve basic writing skills to study in the university.
