한국 성씨한자(姓氏漢字)의 자원오행(字源五行)에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

전통적으로 성명 한자의 훈(訓)이 갖는 의미를 중시하고 있으나, 성명학적 관점에서는 한자에 내포된 자원오행(字源五行)이 더 유의미하다고 생각하므로 인명용 한자의 자원오행이 올바르게 배속되어 적용될 필요성이 있다. 이를 개선하는 그 시초 단계로서 우리나라 주요 성씨 한자들의 자원오행에 대해 고찰하여, 한자성명의 필수요소인 성씨 한자의 자원오행에 대한 체계를 세우고 성씨 한자의 자원오행이 바르게 활용될 수 있도록 하였다. 한자 자원오행 배속의 11원칙을 세운 후 이를 바탕으로 잘못 배속(配屬)되고 있는 성씨한자 자원오행을 검토했으며 100대 성씨한자의 자원오행성(字源五行性)을 각각의 오행별로 강(强)·중(中)·약(弱)·무의미(無意味)·불명(不明)으로 분류하였다. 성씨 한자의 자원오행은 이름[名] 한자의 자원오행들과 조합을 이루고 있음에도 작명 현장에서는 이에 대한 고려가 없는 실정이다. 그러나 성씨한자의 자원오행성이 분명하다면 한자이름 짓기에서 성씨 한자의 자원오행도 중시되어야 한다. 따라서 성씨 한자의 자원오행이 최적하게 활용될 수 있도록 오행성이 분명한 성씨한자와 모호한 성씨한자를 구분하여 한자이름 짓기를 시행하는 이론 체계를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Korean society places emphasis on the meaning of the Chinese characters based on the thought of praying for blessing in this world for names, but from a scholarly standpoint, needs the change of perception to realize that the five elements in characters that Chinese characters connote and manifest are actually more effective than the meaning. For this, the correct assignment of five elements in Chinese characters is demanded above all. However, it was determined that the error in assigning five elements in characters in current practice is serious and therefore this study examined the five elements in Chinese character for surname as the first stage in resolving this problem. 11 principles in assigning five elements in Chinese characters were established and the five elements in Chinese character for surname that had been misused were corrected based on the principles and the five elements in 100 Chinese characters for surnames were categorized into Strong, Mediocre, Weak, Meaningless, and Obscure based on the five elements. but, Despite forming a harmony with the five elements in Chinese character for given name, there is no consideration for the five elements in Chinese character for surname in the naming fields. this study established a theoretical system in naming science which varies the naming method by distinguishing the case where the five elements in Chinese character for surname are clear and the case where they are meaningless and obscure.
