대학 인성교육에서의 봉사를 통한 인성의 변화 결과 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학에서 실시되는 교양과목으로서의 인성 교과목이 봉사를 통해서 어떠한 인성의 변화가 이루어지는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 대학에서 다양한 방법으로 인성교육이 시행되고 있지만, 실천하는 인재로서의 교육의 핵심은 자극을 통해서 인성의 변화를 유도해내는 것이다. 그리고 그 자극은 몸소 봉사를 실천함으로써 자신의 인성이 변화, 또는 변화의 가능성을 내포하고 있음을 파악할 수 있다. 배재대학교 <인성과 예(禮)티켓> 과목은 ‘예절은 습관이다, 인성은 실천이다, 봉 사는 사랑이다’라는 기치를 내걸고, 기본 노력봉사를 포함한 다양한 봉사를 경험하게 하는 것이 목적이다. 그리고 그러한 봉사를 통해서 본인의 조그만 언행의 변화부터 마음가짐이 어떻게 변화되었는지를 ‘나의 인성실천지수 변화표’의 설문지를 통해서 확인할 수 있었다. 학생들은 개강 때부터 한 학기의 과정을 마무리하면서 본인의 마음가짐과 태도가 긍정적으로 변화된 것을 설문 결과를 통해 직접 확인할 수 있었다. 인성교육의 범위가 폭넓게 정의되고, 이론적인 부분으로서의 접근도 중요한 것이 사실이다. 하지만 성인으로서의 대학생들에게는 이론에 치중하는 수업 방식보다 본인들이 스스로 실천하는 봉사를 통해 직접 깨달을 수 있는 기회를 제공해주는 것이 더욱 현실적인 교육이라고 생각된다. 앞으로 봉사의 성격을 세분화하고, 체화․체득할 수 있는 봉사의 유형도 개발하여 학생들의 인성에 긍정적인 영향을 끼칠 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하는 것은 향후 고민해봐야 할 과제이기도 하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate how personality changes as a liberal arts subject in college can be made through voluntary service. Although a personality education is implemented in various ways at universities, the core of education as a talented person is to introduce the change of personality through a stimulation. And the stimulation can realize that the personality of the person should imply the actual change or the possibility of change by practicing voluntarily service. The purpose of Pai Chai University s course is to give a variety of services, including basic service, with the banner of manners are customs, humanity is action, service is love . Through such a service, I was able to be confirmed how their attitude changed from the small change of the words and actions through the questionnaire of My Personality Practice Index . The students were able to directly confirm the changes in their attitudes and attitudes toward students during the semester. It is true that the extent of personality education is broadly defined and the approach as a theoretical part is also important. However, it is more realistic for the university students as adults to provide them with opportunities to realize themselves through their self-service rather than the theory-oriented teaching methods. In the future, it would be a challenge to develop a program that can divide the nature of service, develop a type of voluntary service that can be embodied and learned, and positively influence student tastes.
