국문 초록

본 논문은 생활문화가 개인과 지역문화의 발전뿐 아니라 지역사회 전체를 활성 화하는 중요한 자원이라는 점에 주목하여, 생활문화 확산을 위한 플랫폼으로서 지역축제와의 상관관계를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 생활문화와 지역축제는 지역민들의 자발적이고 능동적인 참여가 바탕이 되어야 한다는 인식하에 시민참여형 축제의 전형으로 주목받고 있는 ‘원주 댄싱카니발’이 생활문화 확산에 미치는 실증적 효과를 분석하고자 했다. 그 결과 원주댄싱카니발의 사례를 통하여 지역축제가 생활문화의 확산에 큰 효과를 거둘 수 있다는 것을 입증하고, 지역축제가 생활문화 확산에 끼치는 효과와 시사점을 제시하였다. 첫째, 생활문화 활동은 창의성과 소통능력 등 개인의 문화자본 축적과 자아 존중감 향상 및 삶의 만족도 증대에 도움이 될 뿐만 아니라, 타인의 이해와 공감대 형성을 통해 지역공동체 조성에도 기여한다는 점에서 지역문화와의 연관성을 강화해 나가야 한다. 둘째, ‘일상의 축제화’, ‘축제의 일상화’ 장치를 실현하는 프로그램의 개발과 생활문화를 확산시키기 위한 지역축제의 시민참여 프로그램의 다양화가 필요하다. 셋째, 전문예술가와 생활문화 동아리들의 상생관계 구축을 통해 생활문화를 확산시켜 나가야 한다. 생활문화예술 활동이 활발해지면 이는 전문예술에 대한 수요 증가와 연결되어 예술생태계의 선순환을 유도할 수 있을 것이며, 생활문화를 통한 지역민들의 축제참여는 지역재생, 사회통합, 지역 공동체성, 지역의 창의성 등에 영향을 미치며 지역의 지속발전에 긍정적으로 작용하게 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is paying attention to the fact that the voluntary arts is an important resource to activate not only the individual and local culture, but also the entire community and analyzing the correlation with the local festival as a platform for spreading the voluntary arts. It casts a spotlight on the actual effect of the Wonju Dancing Carnival which is known as a representative participatory festival on diffusion of the voluntary arts under the recognition of the importance of voluntary and active engagement of local people in local festival and their cultural activity. In doing so, it proves that local festival can have a great effect on the spread of voluntary arts. First, voluntary arts activities should be continually strengthened the correlation with local culture as it is not only contribute to the accumulation of individual cultural capital such as creativity and communication skills, improving self esteem and life satisfaction but also contribute to the formation of local community through understanding and forming a consensus with others. Second, it is necessary to develop a diverse citizen participatory program of local festival in order to spread the voluntary arts and carry the concept of Festival of Daily life and Routinized Festival . Lastly, it is necessary to build a mutual relationship between professional artists and the local communities for voluntary arts. Their active engagement will be connected to the increased demand for professional arts and artist and it lead to a virtuous cycle in the art ecosystem. Their participation in local festivals by their cultual and artistic activities will also influence on regional revitalization, social integration, local community, local creativity and positively contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
