새로 발굴한 가사 작품 <본문가>에 대한 문예적 검토

국문 초록

<본문가>는 임에 대한 원망과 신세의 한탄이라는 정서가 작품에 전반적으로 나타난다. ‘가나다라’의 순서에 따라 즉흥 어구를 가미하여 임과의 그리움을 담아내는 경향이 있다. 일종의 두운이라 할 가나다라의 순서는 작품 전체의 암기에 용이한 기능 구실을 하고 있다. 이 작품에서 각 구절구절이 전체적인 시상의 흐름 속에서 다양한 내용의 조합이 이루어진 것은 국문뒤풀이라는 시작법이 지닌 특질이라 할 수 있다. 그럼에도 임과의 굳센 언약-임의 떠남-그리움-탄식으로 이어지는 전반적인 정서의 흐름은 이 작품이 한 편의 잡가로서, 한 편의 탄식의 민요로서 작품을 대중화하는데 기여하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. <본문가>는 가사로서의 문학적 우수성이나 특수성을 비중으로 두기보다는 한글을 익히고자 하는 교육의 목적이 분명하게 드러난다. 특히 작품에 사용된 ‘국문뒤풀이’ 방식은 수없이 많은 사람들이 창작에 참여했을 것으로 판단하고 이를 기반으로 유통․계승한 것으로 보여진다. 가사 <본문가>는 이별, 사랑, 탄식의 양상을 표출하는 정서가 주를 이룬다. 이를 통해 규방가사로 여성이 지닌 이별의 한과 정서가 선명하게 나타나며 동시에 자신의 정서가 진솔하게 나타난다. 아울러 이 작품을 유통하고 계승하는 독자들로 하여금 자신이 처한 상황이나 정서를 치유하는 기능을 지니고 있는 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

In the work Bonmunga the emotions of a female s resentment towards her beloved and of her lamentation for her misfortune are generally shown. It tends to contain her longing for him by adding impromptu phrases according to Korean alphabetical order - Ga, Na, Da, Ra... That order, a kind of alliteration, serves as a function that helps to memorize the whole work easily. As for each phrase of this work, various contents are combined in the overall flow of the poetic concept, which is a characteristic of the poetics Gukmundwipuri. Nevertheless, it can be thought that the overall emotional flow (first, the firm promise that she made to him; second, his leaving; third, she who is missing him, fourth, her lamenting) contributes to popularization of the work as a Japga and a folk song of lamentation. It clearly aims to help to learn the Korean alphabets - an educational purpose - rather than gives weight to its literary excellence or distinct characteristics that a Gasa (a traditional kind of poetry which sprung during the Joseon period) poem has. Innumerable people are thought to have participated in composing with the use of the method called Gukmundwipuri and seem to have conveyed and handed over the work. Notably, it mainly expresses the emotions of farewell, love, and lamentation. Through such expression of these emotions, she is revealing her emotions in the form of Gyubang Gasa (a file of papers that were written by Korean females in the latter period of era of Joseon Dynasty about their living), vividly showing a female s resentment and emotions caused by farewell. The revealing of her emotions seems to have a healing function for readers, who convey and hand over it.
