대학 교양교육과정 편성에 관한 연구

국문 초록

대학의 교양교육은 전공교육과 함께 대학의 교육력을 키우는 중요한 교육이다. 융합을 요구하는 미래사회를 대비하는 일부 대학들은 교양교육의 중요성을 인식하고, 교양교육을 강화하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 교양교육의 강화는 교육목표, 교육과정, 교과목 개설, 교과목 담당교수, 전담기관, 운영 등의 제반 문제를 재고, 성찰하며 진행되는 경우가 많다. 이들은 유기적인 연관성을 지니며 교양교육의 질을 변화시키는 데 기여하기 때문이다. 부분이 총합의 변화에 어느 정도 기여하는가에 대한 점검이 필요하다는 생각에서 본 연구의 목적은 대학 교양교육과정의 바람직한 구성 방안을 탐구하는 데 둔다. 이를 위해 첫째, 대학 교양교육과정에 대한 연구 동향을 정리하고, 둘째, 한국교양기초교육원의 교양교육 표준안에서 제시하는 교양교육과정을 기준 삼아, 2회 거듭 ACE사업을 수행한 11개 대학의 교양교육과정 분석을 통해서 교양교육과정 구성의 현황과 특징을 밝히고. 전국 20개 대학의 교양필수이수학점의 조사를 통해서 교양필수이수학점의 필요성을 제기하고, 셋째, 앞의 논의들을 바탕으로 대학 교양교육과정 구성의 바람직한 방향을 제시해 본다. 그 결과 교양교육과정 연구동향은 교양교육 전반에 대한 논의 가운데에서 진행되던 추세에서 교양교육과정만을 대상으로 논의되는 경향으로 바뀌었다. 교양교육과정은 매우 다양한 명칭을 사용하며 운영되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 기초교육영역은 중점교양, 기초교양필수, 교양필수, 소통기초, 중핵필수, 기초교양, 공통교양, 일반기초교양 등으로, 교양교육영역은 학문분야별, 주제별, 혼합형 등으로, 소양교육 영역은 교양선택, 자유교양, 일반교양, 소통교양 등의 명칭으로 운영되고 있다. 다양하게 사용되고 있는 명칭은 그야말로 자의성과 자율성을 가진다는 의미도 되지만, 교양교육에 대한 철학 없음을 의미할 수도 있다. 비판정신과 문제해결력을 높이는 교양교육의 중요성을 인식하는 일이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The liberal arts education of the university is an important education to educate the university together with the major education. Some universities prepare for future societies requiring convergence, recognize the importance of liberal arts education, it is showing a tendency to strengthen liberal arts education. The strengthening of liberal arts education is often carried out by reviewing and reviewing various problems such as educational goals, curriculum, opening of curriculum, professor in charge of curriculum, specialized institution, and administration. They are of organic relevance and contribute to changing the quality of liberal arts education. The purpose of this study is to investigate the desirable composition of curriculum for university liberal arts. First, the research trends of universal liberal arts curriculum are summarized. Second, based on the liberal arts curriculum presented in the Liberal Arts Education Standards of the Korea Liberal Arts Education Foundation. The course analyzes the current status and characteristics of curriculum development. The purpose of this study is to suggest the desirable direction of university liberal arts curriculum based on the above discussions. As a result, the tendency of curriculum trends in liberal arts curriculum has changed from the tendency of discussing general liberal arts curriculum to liberal curriculum. It can be seen that the liberal arts curriculum uses a wide variety of names. The name that is used variously means to have self-rightness and autonomy, but it may mean that there is no philosophy about liberal arts education. It is necessary to recognize the importance of liberal education that enhances criticism and problem solving ability.
