백동 여성수식(女性首飾) 제작방법에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 여성수식 중 백동 소재로 만들어진 명장 조성준의 작품 사례를 조사하여 표현 형태에 따라 사용되는 여러 기법이나 맞춤형 도구의 제작에 관해 논한 것이다. 이는 백동 여성수식의 조형 형태와 과거로부터 현대로 이어지는 백동 공예품을 재조명하고자 함이다. 연구 범위는 조성준이 제작한 백동 빗치개와 백동 비녀로 한정하였고 각 공예품의 제작 과정 별 기법을 관찰하고 형태를 완성하기 위해 개발한 새로운 도구나 틀 제작 사례를 고찰하였다. 백동 빗치개는 단아한 형태감과 길상문으로 장식되어 백동 소재의 아름다움을 극대화하였다. 백동 비녀는 민비녀, 조리비녀, 버섯비녀가 대표적인 형태이다. 이는 백동 소재의 특성을 가장 잘 보여주는 것으로 단순하면서도 정제된 디자인이다. 죽비녀와 석류비녀는 백동 비녀 가운데 세밀한 장식 요소가 많은 비녀로 그 조형미와 완성도가 매우 뛰어나다. 조성준의 작업 과정에서 제시된 바와 같이 원하는 형태로 백동 공예품을 제작하기 위해서는 적합한 도구를 제작하고 사용하는 것이 매우 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이번 연구를 통해 제한적이긴 하지만 그동안 미비했던 서민층의 수식에 관하여 일부분이나마 고찰할 수 있었다. 백동 여성수식의 제작 과정을 살펴봄으로써 과거로부터 현재로 이어지는 백동 공예품의 가치와 의의를 논하는 것은 매우 중요한 의미가 있을 것으로 생각된다.

영문 초록

In this research, I investigate the cupronickel craftworks of the women s head ornament of Cho Sung-joon made of and look at how to use some techniques and tools depending on the form. The purpose of this study is to re-illuminate the beauty of form and the continuity from the past to the present day of the cupronickel craftworks of the women s head ornament Cupronickel Bichigae was decorated with a refined form and various patterns which means such as wealth, long life, many children, royalty etc. to maximize the beauty of cupronickel. Min-binyeo, Jori(cooking utensil)-binyeo, and Beoseot(mushroom)-binyeo are representative forms of cupronickel binyeo. This is the simplest but sophisticated design that shows the best characteristics of cupronickel. Juck(bamboo)-binyeo, and Seoknyu(pomegranate)-binyeo have many fine decorative elements and their beauty and completeness are very excellent. Through this study, I was able to consider some character of the women s head ornament of general people. And as shown in the process of Cho Sung-joon s work to produce cupronickel craftworks it is very important to develop the appropriate tool to produce the desired shape. In addition, it is considered that it is very important to discuss the value and significance of cupronickel craftworks from the past to the present by looking at the production process of cupronickel craftworks of the women s head ornaments.
