초등학교로의 전이에 관한 유아교사와 초등학교교사의 인식 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등학교로의 전이와 관련한 유아교사들과 초등학교 교사들의 경험과 인식을 질적 연구방법으로 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 서울과 수도권의 유아교사와 초등학교 1학년 교사 21명에 대하여 심층적 인터뷰를 시행하고 인터뷰 내용을 분석하여 다음과 같은 사실을 발견하였다. (1)초등학교로 전이하는 아이에 관한 초등교사의 정보수요에 관한 유아교사들의 생각은 편차가 크고 초등교사들의 실제적 관심도 상이하다는 것, (2)초등교사들은 아이의 개별적 지적발달수준에 관한 정보를 파악할 필요성에 대하여 견해가 갈리고, 유치원으로부터 제공되는 아이에 관한 정보를 불신하며, 이를 유치원으로부터 전달받을 필요성에 대하여 부정적인 반응을 보이고 있다는 것, (3)유아-초등교사들이 공통적으로 전이활동의 필요성을 인식하고 있지만 실현가능성에 대하여는 부정적이며 유아교사와 초등교사가 협동해야하는 전이활동에 대하여 양측이 모두 상대방을 부정적으로 생각하고 있다는 것, (4)유아-초등교사 사이에 정보공유를 위한 시스템이 가동되지 않아 정보의 흐름과 경로 는 막혀있고, 양측 모두 상대방에 대한 이해가 부족하다는 것 등이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to study the experience and perception of early childhood teachers and elementary school teachers about children s transition to elementary schools through a qualitative research method. To that end, 21 early childhood teachers and elementary school first grade teachers were interviewed in depth. The analysis of the interviews revealed the following facts. (1) There are varying degrees of early childhood teachers opinions about elementary school teachers demand for information and elementary school teachers interest in the subject. (2) Elementary school teachers have different opinions about the necessity to obtain information about children s individual level of intellectual development, do not trust the information provided by kindergartens, and are showing negative reactions towards the need to receive such information from kindergartens. (3) Both early childhood teachers and elementary school teachers understand the need for transition activities, but they are pessimistic about the actual feasibility. Both sides have negative impressions about the other sides with regard to transition activities that require cooperation among early childhood teachers and elementary school teachers. (4) The inactive nature of the system for information sharing between early childhood teachers and elementary school teachers are blocking the flow of information between the two sides, and both sides have insufficient understanding about the other sides.
