2022 교육과정 『한국사』 교과서의 아시아태평양전쟁 ‘停滯’ 서술 실태와 원인

국문 초록

2022 교육과정에 따라 집필된 고등학교 『한국사』 교과서의 아시아태평양전쟁 관련 서술 실태를 살펴보았다. 특히 아시아태평양전쟁의 용어와 시기, 범주, 그리고 병참기지화정책과 관련된 ‘정체’ 서술 실태를 파악하고 그 원인을 고찰하였다. 대부분의 교과서가 일제의 대륙 침략과 병참기지화정책을 서술하는 과정에서 적합지 않은 용어를 사용하거나 명확하지 않은 시기와 범주를 설정하고 있었다. 예컨대 일제의 한반도 병참기지화와 관련하여 ‘남면북양’을 대표적인 정책으로 설명하려는 경향이 있다. 이글에서는 이를 교과서의 ‘정체’된 서술로 규정하고 그 원인을 두 가지로 규명하였다. 첫째, 교육과정의 한계와 기존 서술의 굴레, 둘째 일제의 대륙병참기지화정책에 대한 이해 부족 등이다. 결국 이러한 ‘정체’ 서술은 역사를 배우는 학생들이 일제의 침략전쟁과 식민지 지배정책을 유기적으로 이해하는 데 어려움을 줄 수 있다. 결론에서는 이를 극복하기 위한 몇 가지 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the actual state of descriptions related to the Asia-Pacific War in high school Korean history textbooks written according to the 2022 curriculum. In particular, the terminology, timing, category, and status of stagnation writing related to the Munitions base Policy of the Asia-Pacific War were identified and the causes were considered. Most of the textbooks used inappropriate terms or set unclear times and categories in the process of describing the Japanese invasion of the continent and the Munitions base Policy. For example, in relation to the Japanese Korean Peninsula Munitions base, there is a tendency to explain the Growing cotton in the South, raising sheep in the North policy as a representative. In this article, this was defined as the Stagnation Writing of textbooks, and the causes were identified in two ways. First, there are limitations of the curriculum, the shackles of existing descriptions, and second, the lack of understanding of the Japanese policy of Munitions base. In the end, such Stagnation Writing can make it difficult for students to organically understand the Japanese war of aggression and colonial rule policies. In the conclusion, several measures were suggested to overcome this.
