국문 초록

최근 대학박물관의 운영이 전시와 교육 중심으로 바뀌어 가고 있다. 박물관 문화가 기존의 수동적인 형태의 단순 관람과 듣는 강좌 위주에서 관람객의 참여가 직접 이루어지는 전시와 교육으로 이행되었다. 군산대학교 박물관에서는 우리 지역에서만 볼 수 있는 중요한 문화유산을 바탕으로 교육프로그램을 개발, 적용하고 있다. 이 프로그램은 대학박물관이 문화기반시설로서 지역에 어떻게 접근할 것인가를 보여주며, 지역의 역사·인류학·민속학적으로 가치있는 문화유산을 발굴하여 다음 세대와 연결해 주고자 하는 데 의미를 두고 있다. 그런 관점에서 군산대학교 박물관의 서해안 풍어제를 응용한 ‘소원배 만들기’는 지역문화유산을 다음 세대에 어떻게 전달할 것인가에 대한 고민의 결과이며, 실제 현장에 적용하여 많은 성과를 거두고 있는 프로그램이라고 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 교육프로그램의 개발과 운영은 지속가능한 프로그램으로 정착되어야 할 것이지만, 대학박물관의 예산과 인력 문제가 과제로 남아있다. 또한 박물관과 교육기관, 지자체 등 지역사회의 유기적인 역할이 매우 중요하며 각자의 위치에서 지역문화유산이 잘 활용되고 전승될 수 있도록 최선을 다해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Recently, the operation of university museums’ has shifted to focus more on offering exhibitions and direct learning experiences. That is, the museum culture has moved away from providing passive experiences such as simple audio tours to offering more interactive experiences where visitors could directly participate. Kunsan National University Museum develops and offers educational programs using valuable local cultural heritages that are unique to Kunsan. ‘Wishing Boat Crafting’ program is valuable not only because it represents how a cultural infrastructure like a university museum can become a part of the society, but also because it connects the current and future generations through excavating historically and culturally significant heritages. To serve the society, Kunsan National University Museum has pondered a way to pass down our valuable local cultural heritages for future generations and arrived at ‘Wishing Boat Crafting’ as an answer. Inspired by the West Coast Pungeoje rite, ‘Wishing Boat Crafting’ program has been implemented and achieved many significant results. Development and operations of educational programs such as ‘Wishing Boat Crafting’ should take deep roots in our society, but budgetary and manpower constraints of university museums remain a major burden to overcome. In addition, the importance of systematic cooperation among museums, educational institutions, local governments and other crucial players within societies cannot be overstated. Each institution must put in its best effort to preserve, utilize, and pass on the local cultural heritages.
