박물관 자유학년제 교육의 발전방안 연구

국문 초록

본 논문은 박물관을 이용하는 학습자들의 자기주도 학습능력을 길러주면서, 학교 연계 교육을 통해 교육 불평등을 해소할 수 있는 박물관 자유학년제 교육의 발전적 방향을 제시해 보고자 작성되었다. 중학교 단체를 교육대상으로 자유학기·년제 관련 교육프로그램을 운영하는 국·공·사립 박물관 47곳의 교육현황과 국립춘천박물관, 전쟁기념관, 숭실대학교 한국기독교박물관의 운영사례를 조사하여 문제점을 도출하였다. 국·공립 일부를 제외하고 대다수 박물관에서 자유학기·년제 정책을 진로 체험교육으로만 인식하고 박물관 학예연구사 직업체험과 타박물관과 유사성이 높은 복원, 보존, 만들기 체험 등을 운영하는 문제점을 확인하였다. 또한 박물관의 교육적 역할의 중요성과 교육환경 변화에 따른 박물관의 효율적인 대응노력이 부족한 문제점도 확인되었다. 그래서 박물관 자유학년제 교육의 지속적인 발전을 위한 방안으로 박물관은 문화플랫폼의 역할을 해야 한다고 제안하였다. 또한 박물관 교육전담부서 설치와 교육담당자 활성화 및 처우개선을 위한 실효성 있는 정부차원의 제도적 장치가 필요하며, 박물관 공식홈페이지 운영 활성화를 위한 노력이 필요하다고 제안하였다. 마지막으로 박물관 교육프로그램에 대한 프로그램 인증제도 및 정부차원의 시상제도를 마련하고, 박물관 자유학년제 체험활동에 스토리텔링 요소를 적용하는 심화 연구가 필요하다고 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This paper was described to develop self-directed learning skills for learners using museums, and to present a developmental direction of the museum’s free learning year system to resolve educational inequality through school-linked education. The following problems were identified by conducting a survey on current status of education of the free semester and learning year system of 47 national, public, private museums and the National Chuncheon Museum, War Memorial Hall, and the Korean Christian Museum at Soongsil University for middle school groups. Except for some parts of the national and public museums, most museums recognized the free semester and learning year system policy as career experience education, and operated the experience of museum curator and the restoration, preservation, and making experience similar to other museums. Also, the importance of the educational role of the museum and the lack of effective response efforts due to changes in the educational environment have been identified. Therefore, five measures for the continuous development of education of free learning year systemin the museum are proposed as follows: First, It suggested the role of culture platform of museum. Second, It proposed that effective government-level institutional systems should be required to install the museum’s education department, activate education personnel, and improve treatment. Third, It proposed to prepare a ‘program certification system’ and a government-level award system for museum education programs. Fourth, It was proposed that further study that applies storytelling elements to the museum’s experience activities of free semester and learning year system is necessary. Fifth, It suggested that efforts should be made to activate the official website of the museum.
