외국인 유학생의 기초학문 수학 능력 제고 방안

국문 초록

최근 국제간의 상호 협력 증대로 인해 한국의 고등교육기관에서 공부하려고 하는 외국인 유학생들이 급증하였다. 그러나 다수의 외국인 유학생들은 한국 대학교에 적응하고 학업을 수행하는 것에 상당한 어려움을 겪고 있다. 대부분의 외국인 유학생은 학업 수행에 필요한 언어 수준에 한국어 능력이 미치지 못하며, 한국 문화의 이해가 결여된 상태에서 대학교에 입학하게 된다. 이와 같은 상황으로 인해 각 대학 기관에서는 외국인 유학생을 위한 대학 적응 방안의 필요성을 논의하고 그에 적합한 다양한 프로그램을 제안하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 외국인 유학생의 대학 생활 적응에 필요한 지원 방안뿐만 아니라 성공적인 대학 수학을 위해 기초학문 수학 능력 제고를 위한 방안으로 내용중심한국어교육을 제안한다. 이를 위해 외국인 유학생의 현황과 문제점을 파악하였으며, 이들에게 부족하고 필요한 능력이 언어와 내용 학습임을 확인하였다. 그 중 기초학문에 대한 필요성을 강조하고 유학생의 성공적인 대학 수학을 위해 내용중심한국어교육을 제안하였다. 이후 대학에서 외국인 유학생들에게 요구되는 적합한 교과목을 개설하고 내용중심 한국어 교육을 적용한다면 그들의 언어 능력 및 대 학 수학 능력을 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

Recently, the number of international students who want to study at Korean higher education institutions has increased due to the increase of international mutual cooperation. However, many international students are having difficulties in adapting to Korean universities and conducting their studies. Most international students are unable to reach the language proficiency level required for academic performance and enter the university with a lack of understanding of Korean culture. Because of this situation, each university institution discusses the necessity of university adaptation plan for international students and proposes various programs suitable for it. In this study suggest a content-based Korean instruction as a way to improve the basic mathematical ability for successful university mathematics as well as support measures for the adaptation of international students to university life. To this end, It were identified grasped the current situation and problems of international students and understood that they lacked language and learning skills. It can highlight the necessity of General Liberal Eduction and proposed a content-based Korean instruction for their successful academic performance. It is expected that the university will improve the language ability and academic ability of international students by opening the necessary courses for international students and applying content-based Korean instruction.
