국문 초록

샤먼의 구랑위는 20세기 초 제국주의 열강들의 공공조계지로 설립된 후, 귀향 화교들의 정착지로 자리 잡으며 크게 성장하였다. 중-서 문화의 교류와 화교 문화의 융합으로 형성된 다원적이고 개성적인 문화적 특색을 바탕으로, 구랑위는 아름다운 자연경관을 자랑하며, 현재 중국 최고의 관광지 중 하나로 자리매김하였다. 본 연구는 구랑위의 도시재생 프로젝트를 검토하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 이곳의 역사적 배경을 살펴봄으로써 지역정체성의 변천 및 문화 속성을 확인하였다. 다음으로 개혁개방 이후 진행된 지역 개발과 재생사업에 있어서 역사 및 문화적 자산이 어떠한 역할을 하였고 이로 말미암아 파생된 결과는 무엇인지를 정리해 보았으며 재생사업이 지역 공동체에 미친 영향을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 통해 지역정체성과 도시재생의 관계, 도시재생 사업의 방향성 등에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

Gulangyu in Xiamen experienced significant growth after it was established as a public concession by imperialist powers in the early 20th century and became a settlement for returning overseas Chinese. The island’s distinctive cultural character, shaped by the exchange of Sino-Western cultures and the fusion of overseas Chinese culture, along with its beautiful natural landscapes, has made Gulangyu one of the top tourist destinations. This study aims to examine the urban regeneration project of Gulangyu. First, it explores the historical background of the island to identify the evolution of regional identity and cultural characteristics. It then outlines the role of historical and cultural assets in the regional development and regeneration projects that took place after the Reform and Opening period, along with the outcomes of these efforts. Furthermore, the economic and social impacts of the regeneration project on the local community are analyzed. Through this process, the study seeks to derive key insights into the relationship between regional identity and urban regeneration, the direction of regeneration initiatives, and the value of cultural assets.
