타자화 전략으로 본 중국의 티베트 제재(题材) 영화 - 한족(汉族) 감독작품을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 논문은 중국의 소수민족인 티베트를 제재로 한 영화를 고찰한 것이다. 그리고 이러한 연구의 목적은 ‘티베트 영화사’ 서술을 위한 초보적인 시도에 그 의미가 있다. 티베트는 중국과 독립문제로 갈등을 빚고 있으며 국제적인 이슈가 되고 있다. 또한 중국의 소수민족 중에서 민족적 정체성이 뚜렷하며 영화 장르에서도 특화된 영역으로 분류된다. 본고에서는 티베트 제재 영화 중에서 먼저 한족 감독의 작품을 선별하여 분석하였다. 왜냐하면 신분적으로 그들에게 티베트는 타자가 되기 때문이다. 자연히 그들의 영화에서 티베트에 대한 관념이 자연스럽게 묻어 날 수밖에 없다. 한족 감독들 중에서 티베트를 제재로 연출한 대표적인 감독과 그들 작품의 주제 유형별로 대표적인 작품들을 대상으로 삼아 그들의 작품에 나타나는 티베트에 대한 사유 의식과 실제적인 표현 양상을 통해 티베트의 객관적 현실을 직시하고 분석하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This paper examines films that feature Tibet, a minority ethnic group in China. And the purpose of this study is a rudimentary attempt to describe ‘Tibetan film history’. Tibet is in conflict with China over the issue of independence. This is becoming an international issue. Tibet has a distinct ethnic identity among China's ethnic minorities. Additionally, films set in Tibet are continuously being produced. Among Tibetan-made films, works by Han Chinese directors were first selected and analyzed. Representative figures among directors who made films set in Tibet include Tianzhuangzhuang, Luchuan, and Zhangyang. And the target is a Tibetan-sanctioned film that is significant in film history.This is because from the perspective of the Han Chinese director, Tibet becomes the Other. Movies directed by Han Chinese about Tibet Thoughts cannot help but be expressed naturally. Among Han Chinese directors, representative directors who have directed Tibet as a theme and representative works by type of theme of their works are eligible. We would like to analyze how they face the objective reality of Tibet through their works.
