애도 주제의 활용 양상과 그 변천 소고 - 北宋 哀悼詩를 중심으로

국문 초록

북송 애도시는 당대(唐代)와는 다른 방향으로 애도 주제가 활용된다. 오대십국을 통일한 건국 초 기존 질서의 재배치라는 명목 아래 상당히 제한적인 모습을 보인다. 대표적으로 애도 대상의 축소, 절제된 감정 표출, 친분 중심의 교류, 특정 인물 중심의 애도 등을 들 수 있는데, 본 논문에서는 이를 절제, 교제, 흠모의 세 층위로 나누어 애도 주제의 활용 양상과 그 변천의 일면을 살펴보고자 한다. 북송의 애도 주제 활용 양상을 살피는 작업은 북송 애도시 고유의 특징을 도출하는 것은 물론 이를 기반으로 애도 주제가 관습의 영역을 넘어 ‘변화’의 전진 과정에 놓여있음을 증명하려는 데 있다. 이는 추후 예정된 남송 애도시와의 비교 연구 및 고대 중국의 애도시사(哀悼詩史)를 구축하는 데 있어 중요한 시사점이 될 수 있으리라 생각된다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to investigate the utilization of mourning themes in Northern Song Dynasty’s mourning poems and their changes. The results caused by analyzing the characteristics of the Northern Song Dynasty’s mourning poems are summarized as follows. The first phase is a moderation results in passive emotional responses. In accordance with the implicit demands of the society, discouraging excessive emotional expression, the titles, words, and sentence structures of the poem works appear having more limited styles than previous periods. The second phase is that the poems have been used as a creative work to sustain friendship and solidarity. Rather than expressing private intimacy, it looks like a sort of co-work created by like-minded group. These facts show the situation that the emphasis of writing was focused on the creative act itself rather than the content itself. The third phase is that exemplary figures have been used as the main objects of mourning. Specifically recalling the deceased’s past actions led to the direction that the writers(文人) should follow. In conclusion, the Northern Song Dynasty’s mourning poems demonstrate the aspects of diversity and variety in utilizing mourning themes. This is an important case that shows a drastic change in mourning poems, and also re-affirms the need for follow-up research.
