국문 초록

본 논문은 1970년대 소설에 드러난 여성을 유형별로 분류하여 이들의 당대 사회적 위치와 시선, 그리고 의식의 변화에 대하여 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 1970년대는 급격한 사회변동의 전환점을 맞이한 시대였다, 이 시대는 근대적 가치와 전근대적 가치가 충돌하고, 세대 간 갈등이 고조되며, 새로운 사회계급의 질서가 형성되는 시기였다. 또한 이 시대는 자본주의, 개인중심주의 등의 가치관의 변화가 이루어지는 혼란의 시대였다. 이 사회적 변동기에서 여성들의 삶과 사회활동은 사회 및 세계의 중심에서 벗어난 주변부에 위치해 있었다. 이는 1970년대 소설에서 조명하고 있는 여성들의 주변화된 삶을 통해서 드러나고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 소설에 구현된 미혼의 여성들, 주부 혹은 아내로서의 여성들, 그리고 여공, 차장, 호스티스 등 사회에서 활동하고 있는 여성들을 바라보는 시선을 통하여 1970년대 주변화된 여성 개인의 의식과 욕망에 대하여 살펴보았다. 이를 통하여 본 논문은 다음 세 가지 양상을 추출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 1970년대 여성들은 결혼 제도를 가부장제 이데올로기에 종속되는 것으로 인식하고 있으며, 이를 이용하기 위해 적극적으로 포섭되거나 또는 벗어나고자 하는 양가적 욕망을 드러내 보여주고 있다. 둘째, 사적 공간의 생산으로 인하여, 전근대적 질서가 제어하고 있는 아내, 주부, 어머니로서의 위치에서 벗어나 개인의 본질적 욕망을 드러내기 시작하고 있다. 셋째, 1970년대 여성들은 사회활동이 시대적 흐름임을 인식하고 있으며, 이에 자의적·타의적으로 합류하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 개인적 자아의 분리에서 나아가 사회적 자아와의 간극으로 인하여 갈등을 빚고 있으며, 이는 곧 실존의 차원으로까지 나아가고 있다. 특히 이들은 이 새로운 사회에서 여성으로서가 아닌, 사회의 한 주체로서 이 사회 공간 공공의 공간을 공유하고자 하고 있으며, 이를 위한 저항의 목소리를 점차 표출해내고 있다. 즉 1970년대 여성들은 새롭게 주어진 근대적 공간에서 주변화된 자신의 위치를 자각하고, 여성 주체로서 공적 영역에 합류하고자 하는 움직임을 보여 왔다. 그 과정 속에서 기존 질서로부터 저항하고 새로운 사회에서의 지위를 획득하고자 하는 주체적 성장 의지를 보여 오고 있다. 1970년대 다수의 소설이 드러내고 있는 이러한 여성 문제의식의 조명은, 새롭게 형성된 이 근대적 사회에서 다수의 주체들의 다양성이 포섭되는 세계의 형성으로 나아가는 한 단계임을 드러내 보여주고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the social perception of women revealed in novels in the 1970s. The works to analyze this are the works published in the 1970s, which are entering the process of modernization, industrialization, and urbanization. The 1970s was an era at a turning point in social change. This is the period when modern values and pre-modern values collide, conflicts between generations grow, and a new social class order is formed. Also, this period was an era of confusion in which values such as capitalism and individualism were changing. Women's lives and activities in the 1970s were located away from the center of society and the world. This is evident even in the novels of the 1970s. Therefore, in this paper, I looked at the female protagonists of novels in the 1970s from three perspectives. First, unmarried women, second, housewives or wives, and finally, social workers such as female workers, office workers, and hospice fall into this category. These women show the perceptions and desires of marginalized women of the times in the 1970s. Through this, this paper was able to extract the following three aspects. First, first, women in the 1970s recognized the marriage system as being subordinated to patriarchal ideology and showed a desire to escape from it. Second, because of the production of private space, it escapes from the position controlled by the pre-modern order and expresses individual desire. Third, women in the 1970s wanted to find their place by joining social activities voluntarily and unwillingly. Women, in particular, want to share this new social space as a subject of society. For this, women are gradually voicing their resistance. In other words, women in the 1970s are aware of their marginalized position and are showing a movement to join the social space as female subjects. In the process, women are resisting the existing order. Also, women grow independently to acquire a position in a new society. In the process, women resist the existing order. This can be said to be the stage in which this newly formed modern society moves toward a world where the diversity of many subjects is embraced.
