牖窩 金履翼의 『觀城雜錄』 소재 유배시조의 특질과 지향의식

국문 초록

牖窩 金履翼(1743~1830)은 세 번의 유배 중에 60수의 시조와 1편의 가사 작품을 남겼다. 그는 정조 12년(1788년) 3월 12일부터 다음 해 1월 11일까지 10개월 동안 함경도 이성으로 찬배되었다. 그가 유배된 이유는 대신을 무고한 反坐罪였지만, 실은 왕의 권고나 명령에 대해 순복하지 않고 극렬하게 저항했기 때문이었다. 유배되어 10월까지 약 8개월 동안 지은 것으로 여겨지는 『관성잡록』 前編 外에 수록된 시조 작품들은 ｢戀君第一曲~第三曲｣, ｢自嘲｣, ｢自譬｣, ｢感松｣, ｢寓意｣, ｢警民｣, ｢感狗｣, ｢調鷹｣ 등 10수이다. 본 고는 유와의 시조 문학 전체를 조망하기에 앞서 그가 처음 유배가 지은 『관성잡록』 소재 시조를 대상으로 특질을 도출하고, 투영된 작가의 지향의식을 규명하고자 시도되었다. 『관성잡록』 소재 시조가 지닌 특질로는 먼저 ‘연군’과 ‘우국지념’만을 노래했다는 점을 들 수 있다. 먼저 ‘연군’의 마음을 표현한 시조들은 연시조 ｢戀君｣ 3수와 ｢自嘲｣, ｢自譬｣ 등으로 이들은 모두 ‘우리 님’이라고 표현된 임금을 그리워하며 임금과의 해후에 대한 염원에 집중되어 있다. 그리고 ‘우국지념’은 다양한 대상에게 ‘경계’하는 것을 내용으로 ｢感松｣, ｢寓意｣, ｢警民｣, ｢感狗｣, ｢調鷹｣이 해당한다. 그리고 또 다른 특질로 10수의 시조가 비교적 단기간 내에 지어졌다는 점에서 작가의 시상이 응집된 1편의 작품으로 이해한다면, 비록 유배라는 극한의 현실 속에 놓여 있지만 이를 극복하기 위하여 자신에게 집중하여 신하로서 이상적인 존재로 변화를 꿈꾸는 회귀 의지를 표상하는 희망의 노래라는 점을 확인할 수 있다. 유와의 시조 작품에 보이는 지향하는 의식으로는 유배를 두려워하거나 불편하게 생각하지 않았으며, 임금의 귀를 덮고 눈을 막아 속이지 않는 충직한 신하의 자세를 견지했고, 정조를 매우 훌륭한 임금으로 추앙하며 변함없는 충성을 보이고 있으며, 해배된 이후를 준비하는 긍정적인 자세를 보이고 있었다는 점이다. 그러므로 유와의 『관성잡록』 소재 시조 10수는 임금을 그리워하며 변함없는 충성의 노래일 뿐 아니라, 현재의 상황을 타개하고 미래를 준비하는 희망을 노래했다는 점에서 전형성을 뛰어넘는 진일보한 ‘충신연군지사’라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This thesis is a study to analyze the 10 exile-sijos published in Yuwa Kim Yi-ik's 『Kwanseongjaplok』 to reveal characteristics and the consciousness that the author is aiming for. Kim Ik-joon was a literary writer and bureaucrat of the Joseon Dynasty who left 60 works and one lyric work. Previous researchers analyzed his works by identifying them in terms of exile literature, but this was wrong because there was no consideration for the writer's situation. Therefore, this paper analyzed only his early exile works. He experienced three exiles, and wrote 『Kwanseongjaplok』 in the first. He was exiled because of the crime of calumny in Yeonguijeong(a prime minister of the Joseon dynasty), but in fact, it was because he fiercely resisted or didn't obeyed the king's advice or orders. All 10 works of Yuwa, built in a relatively short period of time, have titles, and the poet said that he wrote these works with a heart more sad than wailing. As a result of analyzing the 10 works, two characteristics were found. The first is that it is a song that contains the meaning of longing for the king and the meaning of alert for various people including himself. Second, it is a song of hope that expresses the will to grow into an ideal servant by focusing on oneself despite the difficulties of exile. On the other hand, the consciousness he pursued through his Sijo works is that he did not fear or feel uncomfortable with his exile. And he extremely hated the Kimchi people who were the cause of his exile, and this confirmed his intention to emphasize his innocence and honesty. In addition, he revered King Jeongjo as a very good king, and it can be seen that he maintained an attitude to prepare for his release. Therefore, it can be said that the 10 exile-sijos published in 『Kwanseongjaplok』 are a more advanced 'ChungsinYeongungiSa(A song that a loyal servant sang while missing the king)' than typical in that they sang hopes to overcome the present situation and prepare for the future.
