학습이 이루어지기 위한 교사와 학생의 관계 고찰

국문 초록

이 글은 학습이 이루어지기 전에 교사와 학생의 지위체제 확립을 제안하는 연구이다. 1990년대 후반부터 사회적 문제로 인식하기 시작한 교실붕괴에 관한 논란도 벌써 20년 가까이 되어간다. 그동안 교실붕괴를 해결하기 위해서 끊임없는 수업변화를 시도했음에도 불구하고 현재까지 교실붕괴는 해결되지 않고 오히려 더욱 확산되고 고착화 되었다고 볼 수 있다. 최근에 경기도 이천에서 학생들이 기간제 교사를 집단으로 조롱하며 물리적 폭력을 시도한 것은 교실붕괴의 가장 극단적인 사례라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 문제를 분석하기 위해서 Collins(2009)의 상황적 계층화 이론을 바탕으로 교사가 항상 학생보다 높은 지위를 유지한다는 일반적 생각의 한계를 밝히며 상황에 따라서 교사와 학생의 지위는 바뀔 수 있음을 제시하고자 한다. 그리고 Jost(2002)의 체제 정당화 이론을 바탕으로 교사와 학생 사이의 지위체제에서 교사가 학생보다 높은 지위를 획득하는 것이 학생들을 힘들게 하는 것이 아니라 심리적으로 도움을 줄 수 있음을 밝히고 있다. 더불어 앞에서 논의를 바탕으로 학습을 위해서 지위체제 확립의 필요성과 반정초주의의 관점에서 특수한 상황에서 불평등의 합리적 가능성을 언급하고 있다. 마지막으로 교사와 학생 관계에서 지위체제의 확립 후 현재 시행하고 있는 수업방법의 다각화를 통해서 교실붕괴 해결에 접근해야 함을 제시하면서 교사와 학생의 관계에서 나타나는 교육현상의 고유한 구조 회복을 제안하고 있다.

영문 초록

This article is a study suggesting the establishment of a system of status for teachers and students. The controversy over the collapse of the classroom, which started to be recognized as a social issue in the late 1990s, is already nearly 20 years away. Despite many attempts to resolve the collapse of the classroom, the collapse of the classroom has not been resolved but rather became more widespread and stuck. The recent group of students in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, mocked and attempted physical violence against a part-time teacher was the most extreme example of a Classroom collapse. Based on theory of situational stratification in order to analyse the problem, I want to clarify the limitations of the general idea that teachers always maintain a higher position than students. And I want to suggest that the status of teachers and students can change depending on the situation. Also, based on Jost s theory of system justification, the teacher s gaining a higher position than the student in the system of position between teacher and student may not be difficult but may be psychologically helpful to students. Based on the preceding discussion, it mentions the need to establish a status system for learning and the rationality of inequality in specific situations in terms of anti- foundationalism. Finally, based on the establishment of a status system in teacher-student relationships, it is suggested that the classroom collapse should be approached. It also suggests restoring the unique structure of educational phenomena in the relationship between teachers and students.
