浮世絵의 情報性과 그 行方

국문 초록

今日、情報化社会の中で映像メディアが日常生活のあらゆる領域に深く関わって人々の価値観や文化ㆍ芸術の様相を大きく変容している。ところが、日本で視覚メディアの浸透による社会変化は現代に至って初めて起きたことではない。19世紀の江戸では視覚情報で媒介された社会意識の変化が広範囲にわたって起き始め今日のメディア文化状況を把握することにも新たな認識は不可欠である。 浮世絵は大衆的な江戸文化を形成した芸術であり、また同時に情報伝達のキーㆍメディアでもあった。錦絵という名称に表れているように浮世絵の製作段階で派手に描いたり美麗な版画に仕上げようとした努力は充分理解できる。しかし、それとともに、目下の社会にあって知っておくべき事件、言い換えれば浮世絵を通して知らせたい情報が可能な限り豊かに盛りこまれたものであった。 従来、浮世絵と言えば通常美術的な価値に比重を置いて研究するのが一般的だったが、本稿ではメディア論という補助線を活かして浮世絵の情報力がどれぐらいだったのかを調べてみた。その具体的な例を死絵、長崎絵などを中心に浮世絵の情報性とその行方について考察した。

영문 초록

Today, the image media in the information society has a greater part in forming sets of values and arts and changes them in various fields. However, as for Japan, it was not until the modern society that such visual media accrues those changes. In the Edo Period of the 19th of Japan, the change of social consciousness occurred by the medium of visual information. Accordingly, it is essential to figure out anew such media of the Edo Period on understanding the current media culture. Ukiyo-e was the art of forming popular culture in the Edo and played a key role in transmitting information. We can fully make it out great efforts to complete colorful Nishiki-e through production process in that time. On the other hand, with that, there was plentiful of current information of the society which could be expressed through Ukiyo-e. While up to now Ukiyo-e is being handled as artistic works placing a value on the art field, this paper focused on the informative power of Ukiyo-e accompanying with the theory of media and went into the Sini-e, Nagasaki-e as detailed examples on understanding the information strength of Ukiyo-e and its traces.
