국문 초록

現在、韓国ではドッフ、ドッジル、ドッフ負心といった言葉が流行っている。これは余裕も未来も見えない厳しい状況の中でも、より積極的な心持で自らの幸せを探し、もっと楽しく生きて行きたい若者たちの現実性が反映された、ある意味での社会現象とも言えるのであろう。ドッフの語源は日本語のオタクから来たと思われる。オタクは１９８０年代に日本で登場して以来、ずっとネガティブな側面で大衆に認識されてきた。その後、40年という時間をかけ、たくさんのオタクたちの成果が社会から認められるようになり、また、大衆に幅広く評価されるようになって、今は肯定的で希望的とも言える存在として認識されるようになった。ドッフは日本から入ったオタクが韓国ならではの情緒と結び付き、韓国特有のスタイルに大衆化されたとみられる。すなわち、韓国の社会には2000年代のはじめ頃、日本から輸入された多少ネガティブなイメージのオタクと、オタクにその起源を置いてはあるものの、韓国式に再誕生したドッフという、いわば、二つの概念が存在するのである。ゆえに、本稿では、日本のオタクと韓国でのドッフの概念を定立したうえ、韓日両国でこの存在がどのように受けいれられているのかをアンケート調査で把握してみようと思う。大衆が思っているオタクとドッフの意味と認識の変化を確認してみることによって、未来の韓国社会でのドッフの役割に注目してみたいと思う。

영문 초록

Currently, words such as Dukhoo, Dukjil, and Dukhoo-busim have had wide currency in Korea. This social phenomenon reflects the reality of young people who are trying their best to search for happiness and excitement despite the hardship of their lives. The term Dukhoo originates from the Japanese Otaku. After its first appearance in Japan’ society in 1980s, the latter originally had a negative connotation and Otaku people were frowned upon by most people. However, over the past 40 years, the achievements of many Otakus have been socially well recognized and widely reevaluated by the public, and nowadays, they are perceived as positive and hopeful people. The word Dukhoo has become popular in Korean in the same way Otaku did in Japan, combined however with a Korean sentiment. In other words, there are two types of Dukhoo: Otaku, which had been introduced in the early 20th century with a rather negative image, and Dukhoo, which, while derived from the Japanese ‘Otaku’, was reborn as a Korean expression. Thus, in this study we are going to establish the concepts of Japanese ‘Otaku’ and Korean Dukhoo and explore how these existences are accepted in both Korea and Japan through a survey. Furthermore, by examining the change in meaning and perception of Otaku and Dukhoo in the public opinion, we will consider the role of Otakus in the future of the Korean society.
