村上春樹作品における音楽の変容

국문 초록

村上春樹作品の中に登場する音楽は重要なキーワードとして数多くの作品の中で言及されている。読者たちは作品ごとに多彩に登場する音楽について、関心を持つようになり、最近では村上春樹の作品に登場した音楽をテーマに音盤が発売されたり、演奏会が開かれたりするほどである。これに関して村上春樹研究者たちの間でも、作品と音楽の密接な関連性についての研究が著しく見られる。しかしながら、先行研究では作品の中での音楽の役割について視点を置く場合や、作品もしくは音楽に限って考察する研究が大多数である。 本稿では1979年のデビュー作『風の歌を聴け』から最新作『騎士団長殺し』まで長編作品を中心に全般的に音楽の登場回数をジャンル別に数値化した。このデータに基づき音楽の変化だけでなく、その背景となる社会や作家の視点の考察を試みたものである。特に、作品内で言及されたロック音楽やポピュラー音楽などの大衆音楽の使用頻度と、それに比例するクラシック音楽の使用頻度は90年代を基準に明確な変化が見られたため、当時の日本社会や作品世界と関連つけて考察した。

영문 초록

Music depicted in Murakami Haruki’s literary works has attracted a number of readers. Music is an important keyword in his works, as can been seen in the facts that CDs collecting the music pieces of his works have recently been sold and that concerts featuring them have also been held. Some scholars have analyzed the close relation between Murakami Haruki’s works and music, but these previous studies have mostly focused on the role of music in the literary works. In this article, we provide quantitative data concerning the occurrences of music pieces (sorted by music genres) in his long novels ranging from his debut work Hear the Wind Sing to his latest work Killing Commendatore. Based on these data, we reveal the change of music in his works as well as the social and his own perspectives which act as background of his works. In particular, we present an analysis of the relation between classical music and popular music such as rock music, a music genre where a remarkable change was observed, in connection with the state of Japanese society at the time and the worlds of his literary works.
