유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지 강점에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지를 대상으로 아버지로서의 강점과 강점 활용을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 부산지역에 소재한 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지 155명이며, 연구자가 개발한 개방형 설문지를 사용하여 자료를 수집·분석 하였다. 내용을 분석한 결과 첫째, 아버지의 강점은 관계적 강점, 중용적 강점, 이타적 강점, 의지적 강점, 인지적 강점, 긍정적 강점, 신체적 강점의 7개의 범주로 분류되었다. 둘째, 아버지로서 강점활용 정도는 이타적 강점, 신체적 강점, 중용적 강점, 관계적 강점, 인지적 강점, 긍정적 강점, 의지적 강점 순으로 활용정도가 나타났으며, 강점이 활용 되는 상황은 생활관리, 놀이과정, 훈육과정, 정서지원, 교육지원, 의사소통 과정의 6가지로 유목화 되었다. 또한 강점별 활용상황을 비교한 결과, 관계적 강점은 놀이과정, 중용적 강점은 훈육과정, 이타적 강점과 의지적 강점은 생활관리, 인지적 강점과 긍정적 강점은 교육지원, 신체적 강점은 놀이과정 상황에서 발휘되었다. 본 연구결과는 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육지원에 있어 문제해결적 접근이 아닌 강점기반 접근이 가능하며, 아버지가 아버지로서의 자신의 강점을 발견하고 활용할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 필요가 있다는 점에서 시사점이 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the strengths of fathers with children in early childhood and their utilization of the strengths. The subjects in this study were 155 selected fathers whose children were in early childhood and were attending kindergartens and daycare centers located in the region of Busan. An open-ended questionnaire developed by this researcher was used to gather data on the strengths of the fathers and their utilization of the strengths, and the collected dta were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the strengths of the fathers were categorized into seven: relational strengths, moderate strengths, altruistic strengths, volitional strengths, cognitive strengths, positive strengths and physical strengths. Second, as for the degree of utilizing the strengths, altruistic strengths were put to use the most, followed by physical, moderate, relational, cognitive, positive and volitional ones. The situations that these strengths were utilized were categorized into six: life management, play process, discipline process, emotional support, educational support and communication process. As a result of comparing the situations that each kind of the strengths was utilized, relational strengths were exhibited in play process. Moderate strengths were displayed in discipline process, and altruistic strengths and volitional strengths were exhibited in the situations of life.
