어린이집 원장의 다문화교육 연수 경험에 따른 다문화교육 운영 실태 및 인식 차이

국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화아동 재원어린이집 원장의 다문화교육 관련 연수경험이 학력 및 경력에 따라 차이가 있는지를 알아보고, 원장의 다문화교육 관련 연수경험에 따라 다문화교육 운영상의 어려움에 대한 인식, 자체교사교육 진행여부, 다문화교육을 위한 정책 지원 요구에 차이가 있는지를 살펴봄으로써 어린이집에서의 다문화교육 확대를 위한 정책지원방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도지역 다문화아동 재원어린이집 141개소의 원장을 대상으로 질문지 조사한 결과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 원장의 최종학력과 보육경력이 높은 경우 다문화교육 연수경험이 유의하게 높았고, 다문화아동 지도경험 유무에 따른 연수경험 차이는 유의하지 않았다. 다문화교육 운영에 있어 다문화교육 관련연수경험이 없는 원장들은 연수경험이 있는 원장들보다 지역사회연계를 더 어렵게 인식하고 있으며, 어린이집 자체교사교육을 진행한 비율이 훨씬 더 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 다문화교육 관련 정책지원 요구는 연수경험이 있는 원장들에게서 전반적으로 더 높게 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the difficulties in implementing multicultural education, teacher training program, and the needs for policy support perceived by directors of childcare centers of multicultural children. Examining the differences in such factors depending on the directors’ training experiences in multicultural education, this study proposed policy measures for expanding multicultural education. To this end, a survey on the actual condition of multicultural education among childcare centers of multicultural children in Gyeonggi Province was conducted. The major results were as follows. There were significant differences in the directors’ training experiences related with multicultural education according to their education level and childcare career. The directors with training experiences in multicultural education perceived less difficulty in community networking. They were likely to implement teacher traing program in childcare center, and had higher level of needs for policy support, compared to the directors without training experiences in multicultural education.
