다문화 교육실제에 영향을 미치는 유아교사 생태체계 변인들의 구조분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교사의 생태체계인 유아교사의 학력, 행복감, 다문화 신념, 다문화 효능감, 교사-유아 상호작용 변인이 어떻게 상호작용하여 다문화 교육실제에 영향을 미치는가를 살펴보아 다문화 교육실제에 영향을 미치는 변인들 간의 구조를 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 서울특별시와 광주, 대전에 소재한 유치원 및 어린이집 교사 321명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 다문화교육실제에 영향을 미치는 유아교사의 생태체계변인인 유기체(학력), 맥락 내(행복감, 다문화신념), 맥락외(다문화 효능감, 교사-유아 상호작용)변인들의 영향력을 전체적으로 살펴본 결과, 다문화교육실제에 직․간접적으로 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인은 유아교사의 행복감이었다. 이는 다문화가정을 위한 다양한 학계연구와 국가정책의 방향설정이 다문화가정 유아를 다루는 ‘유아교사의 행복감’을 증진시키기 위한 노력을 중심으로 다루어져야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explain the structure of variables influencing early childhood teachers’ multicultural education practices by examining how eco‐systemic variables such as academic qualification, happiness, multicultural belief, multicultural efficacy, and teacher‐child interaction affect multicultural education practices through interacting with one another. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted with 321 teachers at kindergartens and child care centers in Seoul, Gwangju and Daejeon. According to the results of examining the direct and indirect effects of early childhood teachers’ eco‐systemic variables influencing multicultural education practices such as organic (academic qualification), intra‐contextual (happiness, multicultural belief), and extra‐contextual (multicultural efficacy, teacher‐child interaction) variables, early childhood teachers’ happiness was found to be the most influential variable for their multicultural education practices. This suggests that academic research and government policies for multicultural families should focus on efforts to enhance the happiness of early childhood teachers taking care of young children from multicultural families.
