국문 초록

본 연구에서는 서원 체험에 대하여 관광객이 얼마나 만족을 느끼고 그 만족에 대하여 향후 행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하여 관광객의 서원 체험에 대한 만족도와 행동의도를 분석 검증해 보고자 한다. 설문조사는 대구와 경북지역의 서원을 방문한 방문객을 대상으로 이뤄졌으며, 191개의 유효한 데이터를 바탕으로 실증분석을 실시하였다. 분석을 통한 주요 결과와 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서원 체험 요소 중 과거 선조들의 모습이나 선비의 교육 생활상을 짐작하게 하거나 일상생활을 잠시 잊게 해 줄 수 있다는 ‘향수성’이나 우리 문화에 대한 학습과 지식을 갖게 한다는 ‘교육성’ 요인이 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 서원체험의 상업화 보다는 우선적으로 서원이 가지고 있는 전통문화인 유교 선비문화를 지키고 보존하면서 관광자원화 하는 것의 중요성을 강조하고 있다. 시키는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다는 것을 시사하고 있다. 마지막으로 서원을 활성화시키고 글로벌화 시키기 위해서는 서원을 찾는 다양한 계층과 성향을 가지고 있는 관광객에게 감동을 전해 줄 수 있는 맞춤형 프로그램 개발이 더욱 절실하다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The intention of this paper is to investigate how the tourists’ experiences of the Confucian Academies exert an influence on the satisfaction level and the behavior intention and to present the practical implications. The survey was carried out, targeting those who visited the major Confucian Academies in Daegu and Gyeongsangbukdo province and then an empirical analysis of 191 valid questionnaires was made. The major results and implications of this research are as follows: Firstly, the result of this survey revealed that both the factor of “nostalgia” which makes the visitors to empathize with the life of the ancestors or the educational lifestyle of the Confucian scholars and to get away from their present everyday lives and the factor of “education” which enables the visitors to learn about our culture have an positive influence on the satisfaction. Secondly, it is more important to preserve the traditional culture included in the Confucian Academies, in particular, the Confucian scholars’ culture containing the educational subject matter and to develop it into tourist attractions than to attempt simply to commercialize the experiences of the Confucian Academies. Finally, it implies that the customized programs need to be developed to impress the visitors with various backgrounds and tastes in order to promote and globalize the Confucian Academies.
