다국적 학생으로 구성된 혼합반 교양영어 수업을 위한 제언 : 창의적 과업 활동을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 다국적 학생들로 구성된 혼합반을 대상으로 한 교양영어 수업에서 많은 학습자들이 수업에 참여할 수 있는 방안을 고찰하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 다국적 학습자들이 공통적으로 흥미를 보일 수 있는 친숙한 주제를 선정하였고 다양한 주제와 관련된 창의적 과업 활동을 제시하였다. 이에 대한 학습자들의 반응과 인식을 분석하기 위해 연구 방법으로 개방형 설문지와 학습 저널이 사용되었고, 질적으로 수집 및 분석되었다. 연구 결과 학습자들은 친숙한 수업 주제 선정에 대해 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났고(80%), 이에 대한 이유로는 재미난 학습 내용, 공감되는 주제, 배경지식 습득 등으로 나타났다. 창의적 과업 활동에 대한 만족도 또한 높은 것으로 나타났고(85%), 이러한 만족도가 높은 이유로 적절하게 할 수 있는 어렵지 않은 과업 난이도, 창의적 활동, 흥미와 동기부여 등으로 나타났다. 세계화 시대에 다국적 학습자들을 위한 개인별 맞춤 학습이 가능한 다면적 과업 모형에 대한 다양한 모색이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine ways to motivate diverse learners to participate in general English classes targeting multinational students. This study selected familiar topics that multinational learners may be interested in and implemented creative task-based activities related to these topics. This study utilized open questionnaires and learning journals as research methods to collect the data. The results revealed that learners were highly satisfied with the selection of familiar class topics (80%), and the reasons for this were interesting learning content, relatable topics, and acquisition of background knowledge. Satisfaction with creative task-based activities was also found to be high (85%), and the reasons for this were appropriate task difficulty, creative ideas, interest and motivation, etc. In the era of globalization, various explorations should be made into multifaceted task-based models for multinational learners.
