국문 초록

본 연구는 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램이 알코올중독자에게 심리적 문제에 대한 효과적인 상담 방법임을 검증하고자 하였으며, 특히 불안 감소와 병식 향상에 대한 효과 검증을 목적으로 실시되었다. 이를 위해 충청남도 S군 소재 정신병원에 입원 중인 18명의 알코올중독 환자를 대상으로 각 9명씩 실험집단과 비교집단으로 나누어 실험연구를 실시하였다. 실험처치로서 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램을 주 2회 4주간 총 8회기 진행하였다. 실험 전후에 우울 증상과 병식 수준을 측정하여 결과를 비교하였는데, 연구 결과 이야기치료 집단상담 프로그램은 알코올중독자의 우울 감소 효과를 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타냈다. 병식에서는 유의미한 차이를 나타내지는 않았지만, 비교집단에서는 병식이 감소한 반면, 실험집단에서 긍정적 수치 변화가 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 이야기치료 집단상담이 알코올중독자의 심리적 문제 개선에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다. 따라서 향후 이러한 상담 방법을 더 확장하고 세부화하여 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색할 필요성을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a narrative therapy group counseling program as a therapeutic intervention for individuals with alcohol addiction, specifically focusing on reducing anxiety and improving insight. The research was conducted with 18 alcohol-dependent patients hospitalized at a psychiatric facility in S County, Chungcheongnam-do. Participants were randomly assigned to either the experimental group or the control group, with 9 patients in each group. The experimental group underwent the narrative therapy group counseling program twice a week for four weeks, totaling eight sessions. Pre- and post-intervention assessments measured levels of depression and insight. The findings indicated that the narrative therapy group counseling program significantly reduced depressive symptoms among participants in the experimental group. Although there was no statistically significant difference in insight, the experimental group showed positive changes, whereas the control group experienced a decrease in insight. These results suggest that narrative therapy group counseling can have a beneficial impact on the psychological problems of individuals with alcohol addiction. Thus, further development and expansion of this counseling approach are recommended for broader application.
