영문 초록

Air freight transportation plays a significant role in international trade in Korea. As trade volume increases and economy grows, role of air freight transportation become more important because of a structural change in Korea. This is mainly because major exporting products in Korea are technology intensive products such as semiconductors, video devices, cell phones. Also increasing demands for high-tech products, which are relative small, light, and fragile, require air freight transportation. This study analyzes a relationship between productivity and air transportation with a vector error correction model in Korea. It is found that the structural change and air freight volume are related to each other. As it is expected that Korean economy keeps growing and developing, it is need to prepare for increases in air freight volume caused by a structural change.
