국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 프랑스인 학습자를 가르친 경험이 풍부한 한국어 교수자들을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하여 실제 프랑스인 학습자를 가르치면서 알게 된 이들의 특성을 파악한 후, 그들에게 적절한 교수 방안을 제시하는 데에 있다. 이를 위하여 A대학교에서 프랑스인이 대다수 포함된 교양한국어 강좌를 3년 이상 가르친 경험이 있는 교수자를 대상으로 ‘포커스 그룹 인터뷰(Focus Group Interview)’를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 참여자들이 교수 경험을 통해 느낀 프랑스인 학습자들의 특성은 한국어 학습에 다양한 동기를 가진 학습자, 한국어를 생소해하는 학습자, 독특한 학습 태도를 가진 학습자, 특별한 배려가 필요한 학습자로 분류할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 이들이 한국어를 더 잘 공부할 수 있도록 도와 주기 위해 교수자에게는 인내심을 가지고 기다려 주는 태도가 필요하고 프랑스어로 설명이 된 한국어 교재 및 프랑스인 학습자들의 특성이 반영된 교수학습 방법이 마련되어야 함을 제언하였다. 본 연구는 그동안 이루어지지 않았던 프랑스인 학습자들을 대상으로 한 교수 경험에 대한 진솔한 이야기를 바탕으로 프랑스인 학습자들의 한국어 학습 동기, 한국어 학습을 힘들어하는 이유, 학습 태도 등을 확인한 현장 연구라는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of French learners of Korean language in the process of teaching. The study conducted in-depth interviews with Korean professors experienced in teaching French Korean learners to suggest a proper teaching plan. To this end, we conducted ‘Focus Group Interview’ with professors who have experienced in teaching Liberal Korean lecture, which included most of French learners for 3 years or more. Regarding the characteristics of French Korean learners, the participants of this study felt that learners can be classified into learners with diverse motivations for learning Korean, learners who are unfamiliar with Korean, learners with unique learning attitudes, and learners who need special consideration. To help their Korean learning better based on this result, it is suggested teachers should have patience, Korean textbooks that have descriptions in French should be used, and teaching methods should be planned considering the characteristics of French learners. This study is meaningful in identifying motivations French Korean learners, the reason why they feel learning Korean to be difficult, and their learning attitude based on the frank story regarding teaching experiences targeting French learners, which has not been conducted yet.
