국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 지각된 학교환경이 자아존중감을 매개로 행복감에 영향을 미치는 구조적 관계를 확인하고, 집행기능곤란 및 성별에 따른 구조적 관계의 특징이 차별적으로 나타나는지 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 10차년 도(2017년) 자료의 초등학교 3학년 1,386명을 분석 대상으로 하였으며, 구조방정식모 형에 기초하여 분석을 하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 초등학생의 지각된 학교환경은 자신의 자아존중감과 행복감에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 즉, 학교환경이 친구들의 지지와 즐거운 반 분위기가 형성되어 있고, 교사의 지지와 자유로운 의사소통이 가능하다고 지각할수록 자아존중감과 행복감이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생의 자아존중감은 행복감에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 초등학생이 지각한 학교환경은 자신의 자아존중감을 매개로 행복감에 정적인 영향을 미치는 간접효과가 확인되었다. 넷째, 다집단 분석 결과, 집행기능곤란 및 성별에 따른 구조적 관계의 경로계수의 크기 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 초등학생의 집행기능곤란 수준 및 성별에 관계없이 초등학생의 행복감을 높이기 위해서는 학생이 지각한 학교환경의 특성이 중요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the differential effects of executive function difficulty and gender on students’ psychological well-being, and to examine the moderating effects of self-esteem on relationship between school environments and students’ happiness. This study utilized 1,386 children who participated in the 10th wave of Korean Children Youth Panel Study (KCYPS) and structural equation modeling and multi-group analysis approaches were employed to answer the research questions. The major findings of the study were as following. First, students’ perceived school environment had positive effects on their self-efficacy and happiness. Students who perceived more warmth and safety from peers and teacher show higher self-esteem and happiness. Second, students’ self-esteem had positive effects on their happiness. Third, students’self-esteem fully mediated the relationship between school environment and their happiness. Fourth, executive function difficulty and gender itself did not show any different patterns of above relationships. Based on the research findings, importance of school environment for students’ happiness were discussed.
