국어과 글쓰기 방법에 기반한 사회과 쓰기 활동 개선 방향 탐색

국문 초록

이 논문은 국어과의 쓰기 방법에 비추어 사회과의 쓰기 활동을 검토하고 이를 개선하기 위한 필요성 및 그 방향을 모색하기 위한 논의이다. 이를 위해 고등학교 학습자와 교사가 사회과 글쓰기에 대해 가지는 인식을 설문조사와 서면 인터뷰를 통해 알아보았다. 그런 다음 고등학교 학습자가 행한 사회과 글쓰기 자료를 쓰기 기준에 따라 분석하였다. 그 결과 학습자는 대체적으로 사회과에서의 쓰기를 중요하게 인식하고 있음에도 불구하고 실제 글쓰기에서는 해결되어야 할 문제적 현상들이 나타났다. 본고는 이러한 문제점이 발생한 원인으로 사회 교과서에 구현된 쓰기 활동에 주목하였다. 쓰기 활동 분석을 위해 먼저 고등학교 국어 교과서에 제시된 쓰기 활동을 검토하고 이를 바탕으로 통합사회 교과서에서의 쓰기 활동을 살펴보았다. 이상의 논의를 종합하여 국어과 쓰기 방법과의 연계를 통해 사회과 쓰기 활동이 개선될 수 있는 가능성을 확인하고 그 개선 방안을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine writing activities found in social studies and find out the necessity and points of convergence with those found in the Korean subject. To address the goal, this author investigated high school students and teachers’ recognition on convergent education and writing in social studies. Next, this researcher looked into materials written by high school learners in the social studies subject according to the criteria of writing. The results have shown that learners mostly regard writing in social studies to be important; however, there are problematic phenomena found in their actual written materials to be solved. Based on the causes of those problems, this author paid attention to writing activities embodied in social studies textbooks. Concretely, this researcher examined writing activities suggested in high school Korean textbooks and analyzed writing activities included in integrated social studies textbooks based on that. Summing up the discussion above, this author has found there is possibility to improve writing activities in social studies through convergence with those in the Korean subject and actually suggested here how to enhance them.
