대학 입학 전형별 학생의 대학 학업 성과 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 전라북도에 소재한 J대학교의 2009학년도부터 2017학년도까지 입학생 23,857명을 대상으로 학생의 입학 전 특성인 성별, 고교 내신성적, 대학수학능력시험 성적, 출신 지역, 출신 고교 등의 독립변수가 대학에서의 학업성취도와 교육만족도의 종속변수에 미치는 영향을 분석해 보았다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 대학에서의 학업성취도가 정시전형, 종합전형, 교과전형 입학생 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학에서의 교육 만족도는 종합전형, 정시전형, 교과전형 입학생 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성별에 따른 학업성취도와 교육만족도를 분석해 본 결과, 모든 유형의 대학 전형에서 남학생에 비해 여학생의 학업성취도가 높은 반면 교육만족도는 여학생이 낮았다. 넷째, 출신 고교에 따른 학업성취도와 교육만족도를 분석해 본 결과, 모든 대입전형에서 특목고 출신 입학생보다는 일반고 출신의 입학생의 대학 학업성취도가 높았으며 교육만족도는 교과전형의 경우에 모든 출신 고교 유형의 입학생이 비슷한 정도의 교육만족도를 보였으며, 종합전형의 경우에는 특성화고 출신의 교육만족도가 다소 낮았다. 다섯째, 출신 지역에 따른 학업성취도와 교육만족도를 분석해 본 결과, 모든 전형에서 중소도시 출신의 입학생이 대도시나 군/읍/면 출신의 입학생보다 대학 학업성취도가 높았으며, 교육만족도는 출신 지역별의 영향이 크지 않았다. 이러한 연구분석 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 다음과 같은 제언을 하였다. 첫째, 대입전형으로 입학한 신입생들을 대상으로 기초역량을 진단하고 학생 각자의 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 교육 프로그램을 개발하여 적용할 것, 둘째, 학교의 교육과정이나 제도, 제반 시설과 환경, 학생 자치활동 등에서 여학생에 대한 배려 정책을 실제적으로 강구할 것, 셋째, 기초학력 증진 프로그램과 다양한 비교과 프로그램을 제공할 것 등이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of pre-admission characteristics of students such as sex, high school achievement grade, college scholastic ability test score, native area, and high school type at J university in Jeollabuk-do from 2009 to 2017. First, academic achievement in university was higher in the order of evaluation centered by CSAT score(정시), evaluation centered by admission officer(종합), and evaluation centered by subject grade(교과). Second, the satisfaction level of education at university was higher in the order of 종합, 정시, 교과. Third, as a result of analyzing the academic achievement and educational satisfaction according to gender, female students academic achievement was higher than male students in all types of university admissions, while female students education satisfaction was lower. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the academic achievement and educational satisfaction according to the types of high school, In all the admission types, the students who came from the general high schools had higher academic achievement than those who came from special purpose high schools. Fifth, as a result of analyzing the academic achievement and educational satisfaction according to the area of origin, the students who came from small and medium cities were higher than those who came from big cities or rural areas. In terms of educational satisfaction, The effect of each region was not significant. Based on the results of this study, this study suggested the following. First, it is necessary to diagnose the basic competence of freshmen who enter the university as a substitute admission and to develop and apply a customized education program suited to the characteristics of each student. Second, it is necessary to take practical measures for consideration of female students in the curriculum, system, facilities and environment of the school, and student activities. Third, the basic scholastic ability promotion program and various comparison programs should be provided.
