중학교 1학년 학생들의 과학 탐구 활동에서 나타나는 언어적 상호작용 유형과 안정성 분석

국문 초록

과학 탐구 활동에서 학생들의 활발한 상호작용이 강조되고 있다. 학생들은 상호작용을 통해 다양한 의견 교환과 협의를 통해 문제를 해결하며, 활발한 상호작용은 학습 성취와 과학 태도에 영향을 미친다. 학생들의 언어적 상호작용 유형을 분석하기 위하여 사회네트워크 방법이 이용되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 학교 현장에서 이루어지고 있는 과학 탐구 활동에서 나타나는 언어적 상호작용 유형과 안정성에 대해서 분석하였다. 또한 리더 역할을 하는 학생과 소외된 학생의 인지적 특성과 의사소통 유 형의 특성을 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 중학교 1학년 70명을 대상으로 5명 1개 모둠으로 편성하여 분석하였다. 14개 모둠 중 탐구 활동이 진행되는 동안 결석한 학생이 있었던 2개 모둠을 제외하고 12개 모둠을 분석하였다. 이 연구 결과, 상호작용 유형 은 13가지이며, 소외된 학생이 포함된 유형은 7개, 모든 학생이 참여한 참여형은 6가지로 분류되었다. 상호작용 유형의 안정성은 탐구 활동이 진행되면서 언어적 상호작용 유형이 변화되는 모둠이 더 많은 것으로 나타났다 그리고 인지수준이 높은 학생 또는 우수한 학생이 집단의 리더가 되는 경우가 많았다. 이 연구에 기초하여 학생들이 수행하는 탐구의 개방성에 따른 상호작용 유형의 변화나 교사의 피드백이나 정보제공이 학생들의 상호작용에 미치는 영향이 연구되어야 할 것이다. 또한 학생 수에 따라서 나타나는 상호작용 유형에 대한 연구가 이루어지길 기대한다.

영문 초록

Verval interaction among students has been emphasized in science inquiry activities. Students interact with one another to exchange various opinions and solve problems through mutual consultations, and active interaction has an effect on learning achievements and attitudes towards science. Social networking method(SNA) was used to analyze the types of verbal interaction among students.In this regard, this study sought to analyze the type and stability of verbal interaction in science inquiry activities done at schools. Also, we analyzed the cognitive level and communication types of the leaders and excluded students. To this end, 70 students in the first year of middle school were grouped into 14 groups of five. Among the 14 groups, 12 groups were analyzed except for the two groups with students who were absent during the inquiry activities. According to the results of this study, there were 13 types of interaction, including seven types with marginalized students and six types in which all students participated. With respect to the stability of interaction types, a large number of groups showed changes in interaction types as the inquiry activities were conducted, and there were many cases where a student with a high cognitive level or a superior student became the leader of a group. For future work, the effects of changes in interaction types according to the openness of inquiry, teachers’ feedback or information provision on the interaction among students will have to be investigated based on this study. In addition, it is expected that a research on the interaction types depending on the number of students will be carried out.
