대학원 과정을 경험한 결혼이주여성의 학업동기에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 결혼이주여성들이 한국의 대학원에 진학하여 학업을 지속하려 는 동기와 학업을 통하여 성취하고자 하는 욕구를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2014 년 9월 부터 2015년 5월까지 연구하였으며 한국의 대학원에 진학한 결혼이주여성 7 명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 실시하였다. 인터뷰내용은 McClellend의 학업성취욕 구에 근거하여 성취욕구, 권력욕구, 친화욕구로 유형화하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 결혼이주여성들의 학업성취동기는 멕클랜드의 성취욕구, 권력욕구, 친화욕구 외에 한국사회에서 인정받고 싶은 인정욕구로 나타났다. 첫째, 성취욕구는 자신들이 한국 사회에서 자신감을 가지거나 자신의 정체성을 확인하여 자신이 한국사회를 살아가 는 가치관을 확보하고자 하였다. 둘째, 권력욕구는 자신들이 석 박사 학위를 통하여 결혼이주여성들을 위해 사회계층에서 힘을 발휘할 수 있는 사람이 되고 싶어 했다. 셋째 친화욕구는 결혼이주여성들과 함께하면서 이들의 어려움을 배려하고 함께 걸 어가고 싶어 했다. 넷째, 인정욕구는 결혼이주여성에 대한 한국사회의 잘못된 인식 을 바로잡고 한국사회에서 인정받으며 살아가고 싶어 했다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 결혼이주여성들이 가지고 있는 학습욕구와 한국사회에서의 역할을 심층적으로 들여 다보는 기회가 되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to look into the motivation of marriage immigrant women to study and what they want to achieve through their study in graduate school. To do this, this study is to analyze 7 people s cases after conducting interviews with marriage immigrant women with higher level of education. This research conducted in-depth interviews with 7 marriage immigrant women studying in graduate school in Korea from September, 2014 to March, 2015. The analysis showed in these women desire for accomplishment, desire for power, and desire for relationship. In addition, desire for acknowledgement in Korea was revealed. The specific results are as follows. First of all, their desire for accomplishment shows that they want to gain confidence and confirm their identity to have values to live in Korean society. Secondly, the desire for power shows that they want to be the kind of people who can influence other immigrant women in this society. They believe that their education will move their children away from prejudice and discrimination. Thirdly, desire for relationship shows that they want to walk with other marriage immigrant women and take care of them. Fourth, desire for acknowledgement shows that they want to rectify the wrong idea about them in the Korean society and live their lives recognized by others. The result of this study gave us an opportunity to deeply look into their desire for education and their role in the Korean society.
