유전과 진화개념 문제를 활용한 과잉확신 인지편향 측정의 타당화 및 성별과 계열차 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 고등학생들이 유전과 진화 개념 문제를 해결할 때 나타나는 과잉확신 편향, 반성적 확신, 정확한 확신을 확인하고 다양한 확신들을 측정하는 새로운 방법을 소개하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2016년 1학기 중간고사 직후에 24개의 유전과 진화개념평가문항에 확신에 대한 척도를 함께 235명의 인문계 학생들에게 제시하여 개념평가문항의 결과와 확신의 척도 수준에 따라 4가지 과잉확신 변인을 생성하였 다. 새롭게 생성한 점수들의 자료를 바탕으로 라쉬 분석, 내적 일관성 신뢰도, 난이도 등을 분석하여 과잉확신편향 관련 점수들의 타당도와 신뢰도를 확인하였다. 또한 생성한 점수들을 바탕으로 과잉확신편향의 성차와 계열차이를 확인하였다. 연구 결과 개념평가문항과 확신에 관한 척도를 바탕으로 과잉확신편향을 측정하는 방법은 충분한 수준의 타당도와 신뢰도를 보였다. 과잉확신편향에 관련된 기존의 많은 연구 들의 결과들과 마찬가지로 남학생이 여학생에 비하여 과잉확신편향이 더 높음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 과잉확신편향에서 성차뿐만 아니라 계열과의 교호효과도 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The aims of this study were to identify the occurrence of high school student’s overconfidence, reflective confidence and accurate confidence while they were solving the genetics and evolution problems and to introduce the new methods on how to diagnose those types of confidences. Twenty-four items with twelve items for each genetics and evolution topics and twenty four item of confidence level for each item were administered to 235 Korean high school students. The sample was consisted of 54% male students and 46% female students from science and humanities tracks. Rasch analysis (fit indices, item and person reliability), Cronbach’s alpha and item difficulty methods were utilized to explore the validity and reliability issue of our research instruments and in order to find the effect of gender and tracks on student’s confidences, two-way ANCOVA and Mann-Whitney U test were performed. Based on the results, we found that the method was reliable and valid based on Rasch analysis and other methods on exploring student’s confidence. In addition, male students were significantly higher on overconfidence than female students, while female students were significantly higher on reflective confidence. We will discuss more about the new methods on exploring various types of student’s confidence that we have developed and the effect of gender on different types of confidence.
