학술적 글쓰기 주제 선정을 위한 단계별 지도 사례 연구

국문 초록

본고에서는 학술적 글쓰기 주제 선정 지도 방안을 구성한 후 교육 현장에 적용한 결과를 밝혔다. 국내 대학의 학술적 글쓰기 교과에서는 보통 교수자가 제시한 텍스 트를 토대로 개별 글쓰기 주제를 선정하도록 지도하고 있다. 그러나 본 연구는 주제 선정을 학생의 자율에 맡기되 단계별 절차를 정교하게 설계하는 방식을 택했다. 주제 선정 과정은 첫째, 화제 탐색, 둘째, 연구 범위 한정과 분석 대상 확정, 셋째, 주제문 작성, 넷째, 참고 문헌 검토, 다섯째, 계획서 점검의 다섯 단계로 나누었으며, 단계별 샘플을 전문가의 글이 아닌 학생 과제물에서 추출해 실감과 접근성을 높였다. 이와 같은 지침을 2016년 2학기 E대학교 사범대학 글쓰기 수업에 적용한 결과, 주제를 추상적, 형식적으로 탐색하기보다는 전공 영역 및 본인의 관심사에서 주제를 추출하는 경향이 우세하게 나타났다. 또한 분석 대상을 확정하여 논의를 구체화하려는 시도들도 증가했다. 한편 학생들은 자신이 선정한 주제를 말과 글로 표현하고 교수자및 동료 피드백을 거치는 과정을 통해, 교수자의 조언에만 의존하던 기존 관행에서 벗어나 좋은 주제의 요건 및 전개 방향에 관해 수차례 숙고할 수 있었다. 따라서 향후 학술적 글쓰기 지도 방안은 학습자 중심적 관점에서 다양하게 연구, 적용될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

This study describes the result of applying a guidance plan to educational practice focusing on ‘selection of topics’, which is one of academic writing stages. Usually, the academic writing subjects of domestic collages and universities recommend to select individual topics among the texts presented by instructors. But this study suggests a guidance plan, which leaves selection of topics to the discretion of students and provides exquisite stages. The procedure of topic selection consists of five stages; Exploration of Topics, Limitation of Study Range and Determination of Analysis Targets, Writing of Topic Sentences, Review of References, and Check of Plans, and targets writing of students, not writing of experts. When applying this guidance to the instruction of the education collage at E University in the second semester of 2016, it was dominant that students tended to extract topics from their major areas and interests, rather than exploring writing topics abstractly or perfunctorily. Also, there was an increase in attempts to determine analysis targets and give shape to discussions. On the other hand, students only depended on advice of instructors before, but they were able to deliberate requisites for good topics and development directions several times by expressing their topics in spoken words and written words and receiving feedback from instructors and peers. In conclusion, various academic writing guidance plans would need to be studied and applied in future, from the learner-centered perspective.
