‘버디프로그램(Buddy Program)’을 통한 프로그램 참여자의 인식 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 K대학에서 실시된 한국인 재학생-중국인 유학생간의 교류프로그램인 ‘버디프로그램(buddy program)’의 참여를 통한 연구 참여자의 프로그램 수행에 대한 인식 변화를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 참여자는 K대학의 버디프로그램에 참여한 한국인 재학생 5명과 중국인 재학생 4명, 총 9명이었다. 자료수집은 2016년 3월 17일~6월 2일에 이루어졌으며, 본 프로그램에 참여한 연구 참여자들을 대상으로 집단면담 총 3회를 실시하였다. 또한 자료분석은 크게 3단계인 자료의 개방 코딩, 주제발견, 주제 확정 단계로 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 첫째, 프로그램 참여 후 변화한 학생들의 인식은 1) 다른 나라와 문화에 대한 부정적 인식 전환의 시작, 2) 다른 나라 언어에 대한 관심 및 언어습득능력 향상, 3) 다른 나라와 다른 민족에 대한 관심 증진으로 나타났다. 둘째, 프로그램 체계에 대한 학생들의 인식은 1) 프로그램 내용 선정의 자율화, 2) 프로그램의 지속성에 대한 긍정적 인식, 3) 사전교육과 사후평가회를 통한 탄탄한 시작과 끝맺음, 4) 자원봉사활동 점수로 연계되는 일석이조(一石二鳥)의 프로그램, 5) 프로그램에 대한 아쉬움, 그리고 앞으로의 기대로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 대학교육과정에서의 다양한 한국인 재학생-외국인 유학생간 교류프로그램의 개발 및 교육적 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the implementation process of a ‘buddy program’ conducted by a university as an interactional program between Korean students and Chinese students and any possible changes in the awareness of the Korean and Chinese participants. The subjects in this study were nine selected students who participated in the ‘buddy program’ in the university. They were interviewed to gather data, and the collected data were analyzed by qualitative analysis. The findings of the study were as follows: Concerning changes in the awareness of the participants, there were largely two different sorts of changes that they underwent. The students realized at the system of the program, and their perspectives also changed while they participated in the program. Given the findings of the study, the necessity of the development of a variety of college interactional programs between Korean students and International students was discussed, and the educational implications of these programs were discussed as well.
