국문 초록

이 글은 현행 학교 현장에서 한문교과 운영의 파행성과 위상, 그리고 그것에 따르는 한문교육의 황폐화를 제시하고, 그것을 정상화하는 방안을 제시하였다. 집중 이수제 이후 학교 현장에서 한문교과가 기타과목으로 위상이 추락되면서 생긴 문제점과 그 폐해는 결국 공교육의 정상화를 방해하고, 사회적 요구에도 부응하지 못한 모순을 보여주었다. 그 결과 최근 3년 동안 한문교과목의 이수학생이 줄어든 것은 물론 교사의 수도 다른 과목에 비해 현저하게 감소하였다. 이러한 현상은 한문교과가 대학입시와 무관하기 때문에 나타난 것임을 지적하였다. 학교 현장에서 한문교육의 황폐화는 기본적으로 잘못된 교육정책 시행의 결과라는 점에서 그 해결 역시 교육부의 의지와 관련되는 문제이다. 더욱이 한문교육의 부실화는 사회에서 요구하는 한문교육의 강화요구와도 배치된다는 점에서 국가경쟁력의 약화와도 관련이 깊다. 이를 위해 현행 교육과정 범위 안에서 현실적인 대안을 제시하고 한문교육의 강화 방안을 서술하였다.

영문 초록

This paper pointed out the wrong direction of the Chinese Classics in school education and the collapse of the eduation of Chinese Classics caused by this wrong direction, and proposed a way of the restroration of the education of Chinese Classics in school. From enforcing the core curriculum in school education, the education of Chinese Classics became an elective subject and the subject's status nosedived. As a result, various problems and harmful consequece caused by the change of the status of the Chinese Classics hindered the reinforment of the publich eduation and did not meet the social expection. Thus, during the past 3 years, the number of studens who took the courses of the education of Chinese Classics has decreased and the number of teachers has shrunken comparing to the number of teachers in other subjects. This paper pointed out that this situation happened right now is basically caused by the reason that the education of Chinese Classicis is excluded as the reuqired subject of national college enterence exam. As this dilapidated Chinese Classics in school education is the result of the wrong educational policy, the Eudcation Minstry have to reform the Chinese Classics in the school educational system. In addition, the insolvency of the education of Chinese Classics in school does not match for the social request to reinforce the eudation of Chinese Classics and diminishes the national competitiveness. In order to solve the problems, this paper claimed an alternative and proposed a way of the reinforment of the education of Chinese Classics.
