국문 초록

본 연구는 한 교육대학교에 재학하고 있는 예비 초등교사들이 장애 관련 문제를 인식하고 탐구하는 과정을 알아보고 실제로 얻은 배움과 실천으로 이어지는 변화의 여정을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 총 5학기 특수교육학개론 수업에서 진행된 ‘익숙한 것은 낯설게, 낯선 것은 익숙하게(Make the familiar strange, the strange familiar)’ 32개 팀프로젝트 과제를 분석하고 그 시사점을 도출하였다. 비교적 공통으로 드러난 과정은, 장애(인) 관련 매체, 사회 현상 등에 호기심을 가지고 접근하여 문제를 의식하였으며 표현 분석, 실태 조사, 설문조사, 인터뷰 등 탐구 과정을 통해 인식의 변화를 경험하고 과거의 경험을 재구성하였다. 또한, 다수의 학생은 교사로서, 시민으로서 자신의 역할을 모색하고 사회 시설 및 문화에의 접근성 등 장애인의 기본적 권리 보장을 위해 교내·외에서 할 수 있는 일을 찾아 적극적으로 실천하였다. 또한, 팀원들과의 소통을 통해 지경을 확장하고 자신의 성장을 의미화하였다. 특수교육학개론 수업에서 배운 지식이 관심 분야를 중심으로 탐구 및 실천으로 이어지고 이 과정에서 타인과의 협력을 통해 자신의 사고를 성찰하며 함께 살아가기 위해 고민하는 경험은 교사교육에서 중요한 지식과 행동, 그리고 교사로서 책임의식 형성에 기여했다고 볼 수 있다. 예비 교사들이 학교에서 마주하게 될 다양한 학습자의 성장에 대한 믿음과 이를 위한 교사 역할의 중요성을 알고 통합교육에서의 협력적 실천으로 이어지기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the process through which student teachers recognise and explore issues related to disabilities, as well as their journey of transformation that leads to learning and practical action. For this purpose, the study analyzes the outcomes and implications of the team project entitled "Make the familiar strange, the strange familiar," conducted as part of a special education subject in a university. Despite some differences across teams, the common process included approaching disability-related media, social phenomena, and issues with curiosity, raising awareness of the problems, and undergoing a change in perception through inquiry methods such as expression analysis, surveys, and field investigations. This process also led participants to reconstruct their past experiences. Furthermore, many students explored their roles as teachers and citizens, actively identifying and implementing actions within and outside the university to ensure the basic rights of people with disabilities. Through communication with team members, they broadened their perspectives and attributed personal growth to completing the project. The opportunity to explore and practice the knowledge gained, particularly by focusing on their interest, reflecting on their thoughts through collaboration with others, and considering how to live together, significantly contributed to changes in their understanding of knowledge, behavior, and their responsibilities as teachers. This study highlights the importance of fostering beliefs in the potential for growth of diverse learners and raising awareness about the teacher's role and care in ensuring this growth. It emphasises the need for collaborative practices in inclusive education, which pre-service teachers can carry forward into their future teaching practices.
