노인언어재활에 대한 언어재활사의 인식조사

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 노인성 질환과 관련된 언어문제와 병리적인 문제가 없는 노화과정에서 나타나는 언어문제에 대해서 현직 언어재활사의 인식을 알아봄으로써 노인언어재활에 대한 실태를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 전국의 언어재활사 121 명을 대상으로 노인언어재활에 대한 인식, 경험, 교육에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 언어재활사의 66%는 노인언어재활에 대해 그 필요성을 인지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 언어재활사가 인식하는 노인언어재활의 대상으로는 신경학적 언어손상을 보이는 노인(66.9%)뿐만 아니라 노화에 의한 의사소통장애를 보이는 노인(63.6%)이라 답하였다. 셋째, 노인언어재활에 대한 학문적 준비도는 언어재활사의 73.3%가 낮다고 답하였다. 본 연구결과, 언어재활사들은 노인의 삶의 질과 의사소통을 위해 표현력이나 이해력의 향상을 위하여 노인언어재활이 꼭 필요하다고 인식하고 있으나, 실제 노인언어재활에 대한 이론적 지식과 치료경험이 부족함을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study, we tried to understand the current state of language rehabilitation in the elderly by examining the perception of the SLP(Speech Language Pathologists) about the language problems related to the geriatric diseases and the language problems in the aging process without any pathological problems. For this purpose, 121 SLP were surveyed about perception, experience, and education about language rehabilitation in the elderly. The results were as follows; First, 66% of SLP were aware of geriatric speech-language rehabilitation, and most of them said that geriatric language rehabilitation is essential. Second, the elderly who were most likely to suffer neurological language damage (66.9%) were the subjects of the geriatric language rehabilitation recognized by SLP. Third, 73.3% of the respondents said that the academic preparation for the elderly language rehabilitation is low. As a result of this study, SLP recognized that it is necessary to improve expressiveness and understanding ability for quality of life and communication of the elderly, but it was found that there is not much education and experience in the treatment of actual geriatric language rehabilitation.
