누리과정 운영의 노동과정에 나타난 유아교사의 일에 대한 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 누리과정 시행 이후 시장경제체제 안에서 정부가 규제하는 교육 정책적 변화를 통해 나타나 는 유아교사의 일을 비판적/갈등론적 관점에서 고찰한다. 매뉴얼화된 교육과정의 운영과 평가 속에서 유아교사의 노동강도의 심화(intensification)와 탈숙련화(deskilling) 현상이 어떻게 나타나며 이에 다 양한 방법으로 대응하는 교사의 실천적 행위를 6명의 유치원 및 어린이집 교사들의 목소리를 통해 탐 색하였다. 심층면접을 통해 자료를 수집했으며 Corbin과 Strauss(2008)의 연속적비교법(constant comparative methods)를 통해 분석했다. 연구결과는 유아교사의 1) 작업강도의 물리적, 심리적 심화, 2) 업무의 통제력 약화, 3) 창의적 실천, 4) 직업정체성의 혼란으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 첫째, 누리과정의 이중성, 둘째, 제도 안의서의 대응과 순응, 셋째, 모순적인 전문성의 측면에서 논의되었 다. 연구에 참여한 유아교사들은 누리과정 운영 안에서 노동심화와 탈숙련화를 경험하면서 자신의 업 무에 대해 상반되고 모순적인 방향으로 개념화하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study explored early childhood teachers’ work from critical/conflict perspectives on teachers’ work in Nuri Curriculum management that government controls in a marketized system of education. Six early childhood teachers were interviewed in-depth to examine how they experience intensification and deskilling and how they negotiate and renegotiate to cope with issues in performing their work. Corbin & Strauss’s(2008) Constant Comparative Methods were used to collect and interpret the descriptive data. Findings demonstrated that early childhood teachers were 1) experiencing 1) physical and psychological intensification, 2) loss of work control 3) creative teaching practice, 4) confusion of professionalism. The findings were discussed in three aspects: 1) dualism of Nuri Curriculum, 2) teachers’ confrontation and adaptation in the system, 3) contradictory professionalism. confusion of their professional identities. This qualitative study showed how early childhood teachers are experiencing intensification and deskilling in performing their work in Nuri Curriculum, conceptualizing their work in paradoxical and contradictory ways.
