국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 노화로 인한 인지기능 저하로 인해 일반 노인의 담화 산출 능력이 감소하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 일반 노인을대상으로 정보단위(IU) 분석을 이용하여 이야기 다시 말하기 능력과 이름대기 및 기억력 간의 상관을 분석하고, 이들 능력이 이야기 다시 말하기에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법: 일반 노인 54명이 연구에 참여하였으며, 이야기 다시 말하기, 대면이름대기, 구어유창성, 주관적 기억력 및 언어 기억력 검사를 수행하였다. 결과: 첫째, 대면 이름대기의 정반응률과 구어유창성 과제 중 가게물건 및 글자 범주의 정반응 수는 이야기 다시 말하기의 IU 분석 척도와 유의한 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 주관적 기억 및 언어 기억 과제의 즉각회상 및 지연회상 점수는 IU 분석의 모든 척도와 유의한 상관을 나타냈다. 마지막으로, 회귀분석 결과, 구어유창성의 가게물건범주 정반응 수, 주관적 기억력, 지연회상 점수가 이야기 다시 말하기 능력에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 IU 분석을 활용하여 이야기 다시 말하기 능력과 이름대기 및 기억력 간의 관련성을 확인하였으며, 이러한 결과는 임상적 평가 및 중재 전략 개발에 중요한 기초 자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives: Cognitive decline due to aging is known to decrease discourse production in healthy elderly adults. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation among story retelling, naming, and memory abilities in healthy elderly adults, and to investigate the influence of these abilities on story retelling ability. Methods: Fifty-four healthy elderly people participated in the study and performed tests of story retelling, confrontational naming, verbal fluency, subjective memory, and verbal memory. Results: First, the percent-age of correct responses in the confrontational naming task and the number of correct responses in the supermarket items and letter categories of the verbal fluency task were significantly correlated with the information unit (IU) analysis scale of story retelling. Second, the score of subjective memory, as well as the immediate and delayed recall scores of the verbal memory tasks were significantly correlated with all scales of the IU analysis. Finally, the regression analysis confirmed that the number of correct responses of the supermarket items, subjective memory, and delayed recall scores had a significant effect on story retelling ability. Conclusion: The present study utilized IU analysis to identify the association between story retelling, naming and memory abilities, and these results are significant in that they provide an important basis for clinical assessment and intervention strategy development.
