국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 본 연구에서는 형태처리 방식에 기반하여 용언활용 규칙을 학습하고, 쓰기중재에 적용하도록 도움으로써 경계선급 지적기능성 아동의 철자쓰기에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는지 확인하고자 하였다. 방법: 연구대상은 선정기준에 맞는 초등학교 3학년 경계선급 지적기능성 아동 3명으로 대상자 간 중다간헐기초선 설계를 적용하였다. 연구는 기초선과 사전검사 3회, 중재 12회기(일반화 4회기 포함), 사후검사 1회기, 유지검사 3회기로 구성되었으며, 철자쓰기의 정확도와 오류유형을 종속변인으로 설정하였다. 중재 프로그램은시각적 보조자료와 예문을 활용하여 용언의 활용 규칙과 방법을 명시적으로 배우고 적용하면서 연습하는 활동으로 구성되었다. 결과: 연구결과 형태처리 기반 중재는 BIF 아동의 용언활용에 관한 철자쓰기 정확도를 유의미하게 향상시켰고, 철자오류가 감소하는 효과를보였다. 또한 중재에서 학습하지 않은 다른 용언에서도 일반화 효과가 나타났으며, 중재가 종료된 후에도 향상된 쓰기기술이 유지되었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 경계선급 지적기능성 아동이 보인 수행의 향상을 통해 형태처리기반 중재가 아동의 쓰기능력 증진을 위한 효과적인 대안적 접근법으로 활용될 가능성을 시사한다. 향후 다양한 교육적 맥락과 대상군을 통해 중재의 장기적인 효과를 검토할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a morphological processing-based intervention on spelling accuracy in children with borderline intellectual functioning (BIF). Specifically, the intervention focused on facilitating the acquisition and application of predicate inflection rules to enhance spelling accuracy. Methods: Participants included three third-grade students with BIF who met specified selection criteria. A multiple probe design across participants was employed, encompassing baseline and pre-tests (3 sessions), an intervention phase (12 sessions, including 4 sessions for generalization test), a follow-up test (1 session), and maintenance test (3 sessions). Dependent variables included spelling accuracy and error types. The intervention program was structured with visual aids and contextual examples to provide explicit instruction and guided practice in predicate inflection rules. Results: The morphological processing-based intervention produced significant improvements in spelling accuracy and reductions in spelling errors among the BIF students. Additionally, the intervention demonstrated generalization effects, with students successfully applying learned rules to untrained predicates. Enhanced spelling skills were also maintained in the follow-up phase, indicating the lasting impact of the intervention. Conclusion: This study highlights the potential of morphological processing-based interventions as an effective approach to improve spelling skills in children with BIF, as evidenced by observed performance gains. Further investigation is needed to assess the intervention’s long-term efficacy and applicability across diverse educational contexts and populations.
