국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 경계선급 지적 기능성 아동의 연구와 자료는 다른 장애 영역에 비해 부족한 실정이므로 현장 언어재활사들의 이해와 치료에 어려움이 존재한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경계선급 지적 기능성 아동의 언어치료에 대한 언어재활사의 인식을 확인하고 교육적 및제도적 요구를 살펴보고자 한다. 방법: 현재 근무 중인 언어재활사 109명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 설문(언어치료에 대한 필요성및 치료에 대한 인식, 자기효능감, 목표기준 및 종결기준, 교육적 및 제도적 요구)은 관련 선행연구를 토대로 개발하여 연구 대상자에게 온라인 형식으로 배포 및 수집하여 연구의 분석 자료로 사용하였다. 결과: 언어치료에 대한 필요성 및 치료에 대한 인식에서는 ‘아동 개개인의 특성을 고려하여 접근해야 한다’고 생각하는 문항이 높게 나타났으며, 언어치료 목표기준의 경우,‘언어발달(읽기, 쓰기), 어휘발달(수용 및 표현), 또래와의 상호관계’ 문항이 가장 높게 나타났다. 지원되어야 할 교육 프로그램에 대해서는 ‘전반적인 생활 지도(정서, 문제행동)를 위한 주양육자 교육’, 제도적 개선에 대해서는 ‘주양육자, 학교 담임교사, 언어재활사의 협력 강화’에서 높은 요구도가 있었다. 언어재활사의 자격증 급수에 따라 일부 문항에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 논의 및 결론: 언어재활사의 경우 경계선급 지적 기능성 아동의 특성을 파악한 언어치료의 중요성을 느끼고 있음에도 구체적이고 체계적인 지침의 부족함을 느끼고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives: Research and data on children with BIF (borderline intellectual functioning) is limited compared to other areas of disability, which has made it difficult for speech-language pathologists in the field to understand and to treat them. This study aims to identify speech-language pathologists’ perceptions of speech therapy for children with BIF and to explore their educational and institutional needs. Methods: The data were collected using a questionnaire (needs and perceptions of speech therapy for BIF children, self-efficacy, therapy goals and therapy termination criteria, educational and institutional needs) from 109 SLPs. Questionnaire were developed based on previous research, distributed and collected in Google Form through an online URL. Results: In terms of perceptions of the need for and perception of speech and language therapy, the statement ‘the approach should take into account the individual characteristics of the BIF children’ was the most highly rated. Regarding the goals of speech-language therapy, the statements ‘language development (reading and writing), vocabulary development (receptive and expressive), and peer interaction’ were the highest score. In terms of educational programs to be supported, participants indicated a need for programs to train primary caregivers in providing guidance (emotional and behavioral) to children, as well as institutional improvements to facilitate collaboration between primary caregivers, school teachers, and speech-language pathologists. Perceptions of speech-language pathology differed significantly by level of speech-language pathologist certification. Conclusion: Speech-language pathologists recognized the importance of speech-language therapy for children with BIF, but lacked specific and systematic guidance.
