조선통신사와 일본의 초등교육

국문 초록

国定教科書の編纂が始まる1903年より敗戦を迎える1945年まで、日本の国定歴史教科書には朝鮮通信使に関する内容が収録されている。本稿ではその国定教科書及び当時の教授法の資料を対象に、朝鮮通信使に対する教育様相を把握しつつ、朝鮮認識についても考察した。 朝鮮通信使は、主に新井白石(1657-1725)が断行した改革の成果を教えるための事例として挙げられており、国家の威信を高めた歴史教育の素材として利用されている。また教科書に載っている朝鮮通信使のパレードの挿絵も白石の改革の妥当性を裏付ける｢教具｣として活用されている。これらの教科書及び教授法の資料の中には朝鮮と使節に対する否定的かつ片寄った認識や優越意識を表出している。 今後は｢朝鮮通信使と日本の初等教育｣の観点から国定教科書以前の近代時期の教科書を対象に考察を続けたい。

영문 초록

The Japanese national history textbooks contained the information about Joseon Tongsinsa from 1903, when the compilation of the national textbooks began, to 1945, when Japan was defeated. This study evaluated the teaching patterns on Joseon Tongsinsa by examining these textbooks and other teaching materials of the time and the perception of Korea. Joseon Tongsinsa is mainly mentioned as an example to teach the achievements of the reform carried out by Arai Hakuseki (1657-1725) and used as a historical material that enhanced the prestige of Japan. Illustrations of the delegation’s parade in the textbooks are also used as teaching tools to support the validity of Hakuseki’s reform. Some of these textbooks and teaching materials reveal negative and biased perceptions toward Korea and Joseon Tongsinsa, as well as Japan’s sense of superiority. Future studies will continue the examination of textbooks in the modern period before the publication of national textbooks from the perspective of “Joseon Tongsinsa and Japanese Elementary Education”.
