국문 초록

야담은 조선후기 한문서사에서 단연 돋보이는 장르이며, 18세기는 순수야담의 전성기였다. 본고는 18세기에 등장한 송사담의 서사 양상과 특징을 연구한 결과물이다. 18세기 송사담은 다양한 사건과 그 경제적･제도적･사회적 배경을 담아내는데, 공물 대납권을 둘러싼 사기사건과 남녀의 음행을 다룬 무고사건 및 가문의 명예를 중시한 살인사건 등이 있다. 또 야담 저자가 송사에서 주목한 대목과 그것이 어떠한 이야기로 펼쳐지는지 살펴보면, 국기일에 문서를 위조하는 범죄모의 과정과 신체적 특징을 이용해 범죄를 해결하는 과정 및 범죄를 재수사하는 과정에 검시를 통해 원통함을 해소하는 등으로 서사가 전개되었다. 이러한 분석을 거쳐 도출한 18세기 송사담의 서사적 특징은 일상 경험을 평어로 부록하고, 구체적인 증거로 사건이 해결되며, 현실과 비현실을 넘나들며 송사가 벌어진다는 사실이 확인되었다. 이는 18세기 송사담만의 전개 양상과 서사적 특징이라 단언하기 어렵지만, 송사를 다룬 이야기가 당시 처음으로 등장했으며, 차후 송사담에 거의 실리지 않은 것으로 보아 특정 시기에 한정된 이야기라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Yadam is a genre that stands out among the Chinese narratives of the late Joseon Dynasty, and the 18th century was the heyday of pure Yadam. This paper is the result of a study of the narrative aspects and characteristics of lawsuit story, which appeared in the 18th century. The lawsuit story of the 18th century contains various incidents and their economic, institutional, and social backgrounds, including a fraud case surrounding the right to pay tribute, a false accusation case dealing with adultery between a man and a woman, and a murder case that focused on family honor. We also looked at the parts that the author of Yadam paid attention to in the lawsuit and what kind of story it unfolded. For example, the narrative unfolded through the process of simulating a crime by forging documents on National Memorial Day, solving a crime using physical characteristics, and resolving the resentment through an autopsy during the process of reinvestigating the crime. Through this analysis, it was confirmed that the narrative characteristics of the 18th century lawsuit story are that crimes in everyday life are narrated, cases are solved with specific evidence, and lawsuits take place across reality and unreality. It is difficult to say for certain that this is the development pattern and narrative characteristic unique to lawsuit story in the 18th century. However, considering that the story dealing with the lawsuit appeared for the first time at the time and was rarely included in subsequent lawsuit story, it can be said to be a story limited to a specific period.
