국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나19 팬데믹이 본격화된 2020년과 2021년에 K 대학교의 온라인 교양교육에 대한학습자의 인식과 만족도를 조사하고, 변화 양상을 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2020년에 비해 2021년 온라인 교양수업의 만족도가 전반적으로 상승하고 인식이 개선되었으나, 교수자의 충실한 피드백과 흥미로운 수업 구성에 대한 만족도는 여전히 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 향후온라인 교양수업에 대한 수강 의향은 증가했지만, 교양실습 과목의 경우 수강 의향이 낮게 나타났으며, 인문계 및 이공계에 비해 예체능계 온라인 교양수업의 만족도가 낮았다. 셋째, 학습자들의 온라인수업 환경이 개선된 것으로 나타났으나, 디지털 정보격차 문제와 장애학생 지원 시스템에 대한 고려가 필요하다. 넷째, 학습자는 녹화된 강의 형태를 가장 선호하며, 향후 실시간 화상 강의에서 녹화 기능과 추가 영상 제공 등을 통한 보완이 필요하다. 다섯째, 2020년과 동일하게 2021년에도 과제 부담과 실습수업의 어려움, 교수와의 소통 문제 등이 온라인 교양수업의 단점으로 나타났으며, 이를 극복하기 위해 오프라인 실습 활동 병행 및 플립러닝 등의 방법을 고려할 필요가 있다. 여섯째, 2020년에 이어 2021년도에도 학습자들은 교수의 강의 전달력과 온라인 수업에 대한 교수의 관심 및 적극성이 온라인 교양수업질 향상을 위해 가장 중요한 덕목으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 온라인교양교육이 나아가야 할 방향과 개선 방안에 대한 시사점 및 추후 연구를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the perceptions and satisfaction level of learners regarding online general education at K University during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. The research aimed to analyze the changes in learners' perceptions and level of satisfaction. The summarized findings of the study are as follows: First, compared to 2020, the level of overall satisfaction among students with online general education classes increased in 2021, and learners' perceptions improved. However, their satisfaction with instructors' feedback and interesting class structures remained low. Second, there was an increased intention on the part of students to enroll in online general education courses, but the intention was lower for liberal arts practicum courses. Student satisfaction with online general courses in the performing arts field was lower compared to humanities and STEM (Science, Technology, Enginerring, Mathematics) fields. Third, learners reported an improvement in their online learning environments. However, addressing the digital information gap and supporting students with disabilities require consideration. Fourth, learners preferred pre-recorded lectures, and meeting their demands through features like recording functions and additional videos in real-time video lectures was necessary. Fifth, similar to 2020, learners identified assignment burdens, difficulties in practical courses, and communication issues with instructors as disadvantages of online liberal arts education. Sixth, in both 2020 and 2021, learners recognized that instructors' delivery skills and their interest and enthusiasm in online classes were the most crucial factors in enhancing the quality of online liberal arts education. Based on these findings, implications for the future direction and improvement of online liberal arts education were proposed, along with suggestions for further research.
